I started off with an Archer and he's now level 6 and I just feel like he's too weak and boring (also he looks extra weird because I customized him randomly lol)  compared my other party members. I sometimes mess around with my rogue in the party and throw in a few points in the double dagger skills and he just seems so much stronger and a bit more fun in my opinion, so I'm wondering if that's a good role to be for a beginner and to finish with him.

Another question is I just don't know what are my primary quests for the beginning. My problem was I was on and off with the game so maybe I forgot a bit as I'm starting to play again, but I look in my legend and I see the symbol for primary quests yet I don't see any on my map which is weird. I just see a bunch of random quests, is that what I'm supposed to be doing at the beginning?

Thank for all responses.

I assume you're in the hinterlands?

First you need to meet Mother Giselle at the Crossroads.  That should show up on your map.  If you've already met her, you need 4 power to advance in the main story, you get 1 power for each sidequest completed.  Once you have them, head nback to the Chantry in Haven.

Haven't rolled a rogue yet, so search me.

The Inquisitor's Path quests are main story quests. The Inner Circle quests are quests given to you by your squad mates or others in the Inquisition. Click on the quests to set them active, but note that only one quest can be active at one time.

If you have yet to acquire enough Power Points to do Address the Chantry in Val Royeaux, make sure to check around the Hinterlands to acquire more side quests. You need to have at least Power Points to do Address the Chantry in Val Royeaux which can be done at the War Table in Haven. Note that there are some places in the Hinterlands that you should not visit yet because you are not level 10-12.

Later you are able to choose one of the specific classes for Rogues to enhance your playstyle. Until then, I'd suggest in trying to get a feel for your playstyle, and that'll probably influence your decision on what to pick later.

I found that while the rogue is the weakest when it comes to health, they do insane damage (played as an archer). Lots of fun after a while in my opinion.

The question is Do you prefer to shoot from afar, or use Stealth, sneak up behind enemies and cut in to them. I prefer the latter, but to each their own.

All rogues are squishy. Archers allow you to play with some distance while Dual Wield rogues are harder to play. You need to be in the thick of the battle and rely on flanking and entering stealth to not get hit. If you face-to-face with an enemy your gonna die....quickly and often.

And you don't need to reroll a new game. Make a few trial saves. You can respect your rogue abilities with the Tactician's Renewal. It's first found in Haven at the merchant's stall in the Blacksmith forge area. First one costs 1 gold. 345 gold after that. You'll need to find some good daggers, and then you can try out the DW Rogue and see if it's to your liking.

When I had trouble with my rogue, I just rolled tempest at once. Tempest ramps up the survivability of melee rogues x100. In my opinion, it's also a specialty where stealth isn't needed if you'd like to use the slot for something else. Most of the time, you'll be rotating between potions anyway and stealth will just interrupt your rotation. Furthermore, A DW Tempests' sustained burst damage is sick

Just something to think about when you're picking out specialties.
