Do you think that it would be a good idea to include vampirism and vampires as a phenomenon in the Dragon Age Universe in future installments?

For me I think it would be a good idea solely because of the fact that I love vampires.

We already have werewolves, why not have vampires in Thedas?

Let me know what you think. :)

They exist already, as non-mages possessed by Hunger Demons. It's in a codex.

What TEWR said, who drain life force and mana or just eat you.

And those kind of flamboyant vampires who can glamour the heck out of you are sort of a bit overdone.

I dunno, nothing tops the vampires of Vampire Hunter D. Those guys and gals are badass

Specifically Meier Link.

Yes, get out glamour vamps.

If DA does explore the existing vampires in their world, make them monstrous.

Meh, Carmilla is still my favorite vampire and she was pretty, she just pulled it off in such a way that it only made her more unsettling.

Vampire Hunter D's Carmilla, or Book Carmilla? Or a Carmilla in a different Vampire thingy?

If they do explore this I want them to be evil, vicious, irredeemable monsters. And I want to be able to romance one........  :P

No not mention it will be ass-pull like pretty much good portion of creatures in dai that came out of nowhere this will also make dai more stereotypical fantasy by adding one of most overused creatures in fiction.

Yep, that's their only mention in the lore. I think there was a statement from Gaider basically saying that if they ever showed up in DA, they would be more bestial than typical vampires.

Vampires were first mentioned in a DAO codex, so they wouldn't have been pulled out of nowhere.

Where you have existence of vampires mentioned in dao codes?

True but it does mention them so including them wouldn't be a stretch but i agree with you in that they shouldn't be added

And? Werewolves are also just wolves possessed by demons too, did that make them not count as werewolves? And remember, the werewolves from the curse in DAO wasn't typical of how werewolves usually show up in the setting. The ancient werewolves of lore that were put down by the Couslands were nothing more than possessed wolves. So if werewolves just being possessed animals count, why wouldn't humans possessed by a particular demon variant count?

It doesn't mention them as i said it mentions hunger demons that are described as vampires and in fact in a way they are but they aren't typical vampires that author talks about or at least i think he talks about.

As far there is no such thing as single mention of vampires (refered only hunger demons) in whole series.

LoL dragon age werewolves are typical werewolves in dragon age "vampires" are hunger demons that feed on mortals and in anyway they aren't typical fantasy vampires.

Both are still caused by the exact same thing, demonic possession.
