I do recall battling with said creature, and I do remember bashing my mighty sword in its skull. Vampires are abominations that need to be purged and darkspawn as well.

I was speaking in general, not referring to one single post.
And your sentences are tapeworm long sentences, with no punctuations whatsoever.
I get that english isn't your first language, but I've seen you on this forum for several years. You'd think you might've picked up something.
And you were speaking lies that you are unable to support ,as well i could start claim in random topic that you are troll. ![]()
In fact it happened to me already more than once . ![]()
Also im here since middle 2013 (well i started to write here then i was registered earlier) ,so im writing here less or about 2 years .I don't know how the hell you seen me for sevral years.
I posit that people think they understand what you're talking about but then become confused as the conversation continues. Then they bring up your lack of coherency because it's difficult to have a discussion with someone who you don't understand. Regardless you're right and this is off-topic but I think it's something you should think about. If English isn't your first language then I get it but it could do with some work. Because, not to be insulting, it's a bit like you're putting your words through a translator.
People know as i said know what im talking about ,at least most because i discuss and argue with with them ,and they know what im talking about to at least try deny things im saying. As i said if you want to continue conversation do that on pm otherwise mods will join and it will be short conversation..

Hey guys what's going on in he-
Oh...oh...well then, uh-
As I was going to say, I'd just lump them in with the rest of the abominations: a hunger demon no doubt. They wouldn't be some special magical sparkly human thing, but a twisted, contorted, irredeemable, fleshy monstrosity that was once a mage.

Why Vampires? A bit cliche don't you think when it comes to a fantasy setting. Plus Hunger demons are enough. We don't need against humanoids walking around flashing their midriffs and abs and boobs as they lament about the Darkness within them.
What little the codex reveals about them suggests they are rather inhuman.

Do you think that it would be a good idea to include vampirism and vampires as a phenomenon in the Dragon Age Universe in future installments?

As others have said, any hunger demon abomination should be monstrous and completely inhuman. I'd take a page from the vampires in 30 Day of Night, who were portrayed as ruthless, cunning, completely bloodthirsty and designed to look predatory, almost like a shark in human form?

LoL dragon age werewolves are typical werewolves in dragon age "vampires" are hunger demons that feed on mortals and in anyway they aren't typical fantasy vampires.
Isn't that a good thing? DA vampires not being the typical fantasy vamps?

This would be my prefered portrayal of them as well, make them scary as hell.
For the fear that the demons in DA inflict on the people of thedas, I find most of their designs pretty lackluster in the fear department.

I'm aware. But I'm guessing OP wants the overly sexualized True Blood type of Vampires instead of the monstrous predator type Vampires. But if OP were to elaborate I could be wrong in my assumption. So unless we are talking 30 days of night. I vote nay on Vampires.

I guess it depends what sort of vampires we're talking about, the more monster/creature type, or more intelligent and human like. The magisters may not be vampires exactly but they do have parallels and seem to fill the same sort of archetype....

The paleness! IT BURNS!
But for real, screw that BS.
....................
I rather have bands or a faction of cannibals who believe that eating their victims will give them strength and wisdom, more appropriate for a Dark Fantasy series like Dragon Age; but then again, you have Darkspawn who fill that role so IDK.

I always thought that blood mages were sort of vampire like already... Or at least they have some pseudo vampire like abilities, such as mind control, etc. But regular blood mages aren't undead obviously. Then you have the tainted magisters like Corypheus with the whole power of blood ability, who was ancient, and presumably immortal with his whole body jumping ability....Avernus was also able to use the power of blood to somehow extend his life as well. So there's that.

Reavers are kind of like vampires. I mean, for goodness sakes, they literally grab and bite their enemy's neck and get healed from doing so!

Oh yeah, forgot about that! So Reavers would be the non mage equivalent.Reavers are kind of like vampires. I mean, for goodness sakes, they literally grab and bite their enemy's neck and get healed from doing so!
Also I remember the Architect says something about how "blood is always the key" so already lots of references to blood having some kind of special power/magic in dragon age.

Though Carmilla (1871 Book) is still my favorite portrayal, "possessed by hunger demon" would fit more with the 30 Days of Night version, I agree.I'm aware. They can be cunning and smart, but definitely bestial and certainly not-sexy.
