Just PS3 remains a mystery...
Pc made it eh?

Personal Challenges didn't seem like that big of a deal at all, odd to hear that so many struggled.
I decided to make it a Necro weekend as I had my Necro sitting at Level 1, so a couple or three Threatening matches puicked up the needed 10 levels.
Another match put me in Perilous play-ability numbers.
First round of PUGs were tough, I'm not strong enough on Necro to carry and I kept finding Hunter heavy PUGs that needed carrying in Wave 5.
Came back later in the day and popped into a PUG with a traditional assortment, 1 AW, 1 Lego, 1 Keeper with my Necro.
The completions rolled pretty easily with that group.
I found Perilous groups easier than ever even if a few were not as Perilous ready as they might have hoped. One poor young Assassin spent round after round in the Fade, he definitely didn't have the gear or knowledge, but he was asking and learning, so it probably was helping a future Perilous player.
I did spend time in one odd assortment of definitely skilled players, but everyone seemed over eager. Even when we recognised that we weren't using terrain or LOS, it seemed like the group kept doing it wrong even while they announced what they were doing wrong and what they should be doing right.
Very odd indeed.
Oh, and had a few rounds with Lil Mantis playing "carrying the team" with his AW on display to the Fade watchers.
Couldn't complete the perilous challenge since perilous PUGS were just not in existence this weekend. I mean I'd be sitting in perilous lobbies for 10 minutes waiting for other people to show up (my gear is not good enough to solo a perilous match), and I'd see maybe one other person, if that. The one perilous PUG I did join manage to wipe on the final level, so I understand why people aren't willing to invest time waiting for enough people to populate a perilous lobby. Pretty sad though. Game desperately needs new maps, but I think when they come it will be too late, regardless. Most people have moved on.
When the only console to complete is PS3, you have problems.
I see these mentions of 'Level 20' .. what is that? Code for a new level 1?
I cannot ever leave a character at 20, just think of that %.5 to my attack or crit hit chance, plus extra defense modifier
I did the challenge mostly on Friday, finished Saturday morning, and ended up not playing again this weekend
Bloodborne

I normally don't let anyone sit at Level 20 either. Usually promote straight away.
However, I also don't usually play Perilous, so I didn't want to take anything lesser than maxed to Perilous PUGs.

Ya fair enough. I think i'm lucky with the matchmaking region i'm in, there seem to be many of the top ranked PS4 players here, so I guess I'm spoiled running any level character in Perilous that I want to.
And I stole your Perilous running buddy for Bloodborne yesterday .. oops

Yeah, I saw him in Bloodborne and didn't wanna bother him.
Although now I'll blame you as well for my 3+ hours of PUG hell I went through yesterday just to get 5 completions. ![]()

That's my favourite part of the game now, when I join as the match is finishing and I get full exp without even loading in.
The developers have admitted they are aware that there are bugs in the matchmaking. They've alai admitted, through inaction, that there is no one on the team with the talent or ability to fix those bugs.
I wouldn't be surprised if a huge portion of the DAIMP netcode is just the ME3MP netcode, copied from a repository by people with no idea how it works, how to optimize it, or how to solve issues.
I'm seriously starting to believe that their coding is done in some sweat code shop in China or some other third world country, hence why these fixes aren't being pumped out like a real game studio.
Probably why we've only met producers, accountants and level designers that only seem to know how to play with the number of enemy spawns.

I think the MP dev team is just fairly small. Gotta think they haven't made as much as they'd have liked from micro transactions. We know its gotten smaller with Derek Hollan's contract expiring and not being renewed. That's just the one we know about.
They needed a fast start and didn't get it. After ME3, they had a huge head start in terms of player interest and blew it. Or someone did. I'm not blaming the devs, I think their higher ups are to blame.

Even if this is true, the microtransactions were doomed to begin with considering the purchase of platinum wouldn't guarantee any good weapons. Whoever thought it up must be daft because you don't put standard RNG on normal gold gathering purchase of equipment then also add it to paid for platinum too.
The RNG system is there to entice people to buy the weapons they want, but for some reason they thought everyone wants to play every other class except for their preferred class.... For example I love playing Keeper, Necromancer and Archer but RNG wants me to play Asssassin/Katari/Reaver/Elementalist or Hunter.
If I had the option to buy Fury of the Veil or Punched by the Maker i would have. Would I buy platinum for RNG **** chests, hell no....
Is buying better weapons pay to win in co-op? No because it's fking co-op.... As long as the team completes the run then everyone wins.
So really whoever thought this MT system is consumer friendly is an idiot. It's just designed to steal money from people who have no idea how **** the RNG algorythm is and not to serve the enjoyment of the community who is playing it.
If they kept adding weapons, unique armour sets and taunts or gestures in their MT shop they might actually have made money to support extra content.

I agree. The system the way it is, their is no way in hell I'd even consider buying platinum. Sell a class specific gear pack or something, I'd actually consider it.

I don't think Platinum is aimed at people who play a great deal and who can build up their gear naturally.
Platinum is of most use to new players who want to bypass the 'Highland Dirks' stage, or to gain new stuff quickly if DLC drops.
There will always be a small number of folk whose disposable income is such that dropping a ton of Platinum is fine to do.

Exactly, I'm pretty sure everyone would be buying something they want rather than a chest of crap.

This is exactly the reason it sucks. The game should be designed for "THE PLAYER" not the "HOW TO MAKE MONEY OFF THE CASUAL".
Also before you start defending this, there are plenty of more things on actual good MP games that I can spend $5 on. Is a chest of CRAP worth $5? I can get decent weapons, some taunts and some ability skills for the same price on TLoU MP.
This system is proof that it was always intended as tacked on multiplayer to cheat unknowing casuals out of IRL money and I have a disposable income and never would I spend any of my honest earned cash on this screw over scheme.
I'm sure people come in here and go "Hey, I'm gonna spend x amount of money on platinum" and get so much crap they're like "SCREW THIS GAME" and never come back.

I'll bow to your wisdom on other multiplayer games, I have played 3 multiplayer games, MEMP, DAMP (both of which I hugely enjoy) and Tomb Raider (which wasn't good in my opinion).
As for the rest of your post, I hardly think that qualifies as 'proof', but if that's your view, ok...
I can list even more things on which I don't spend 5$ on.
But then again, I can see why you dislike DAMP then. That must be as expensive as it is frustrating.
Judging the quality of an MP by their respective paywall is like judging sex by diseases.

Tomb Raider did have a number of amazing maps and player skins. It's level design was great but seems they use the same outsourced net code company as DAMP did.

FYI - It's not a paywall if it's not walling off decent content.
It's a slot machine.
