Nope, canon Hawke was actually a magewarriorrogue. They were actually all 3 classes rolled into one. And Bethany and Carvery both died to the ogre.

Actually, male Cousland and the Dark Ritual were canon default according to Dragon Age 2. It's kind of sad that they stepped away from it, since Kiernan could have been a bigger player had his birth been canon default. Morrigan can breed with other men (so he wouldn't need to have the Old God soul), but I doubt she'd be willing to kill her own brood. 

According to the trailers, male Hawke mage was indeed the canon default Hawke of Dragon Age 2, along with his love interest Isabela. Killing the Arishock seemed to be canon default as well.

But Bethany is dead. She died in the trailer, she dies in Mage Hawke playthrough, she's defaultly dead in the Last Court and she dies in the current canon. Warden Carver is the true survivor.

Dead in the Last Court?

In the Last Court you meet a man calling himself Carver claiming to be Hawke's brother. If you take his words as a truth, then he was the one who survived the Ogre attack and thus Bethany is dead.

Of course you can claim that he's lying and that the real Carver is dead, to fit in with the players playthrough. But if he's telling the truth, then Bethany is dead.

Unless you were asking what the Last Court is, then it's a browser based game that was published by Failbetter Games which happens in Serault, in the dragon age universe. It was made by another company than Bioware, but they worked closely together and most of the lore was approved by Bioware.

But you are probably right about the warrior Hawke being in some trailers. I mostly remember the mage one wiping blood on his nose.

You're forgetting that there is no such thing as a "canon" - only "default."

No. He was dead in the playthrough I chose as the base for my The Last Court playthrough. So... Yeah.

 

You can call out "Warden Carver" on being a fake if he died. Then you can do further stuff. Get Secrets, jail the guy, blah blah blah.

But there was also an option to have him be the living one. You actually choose it mid-playthrough of TLC.

The 'default' is what you get in the Keep if you don't change anything. The trailers don't say anything because they are meant to intrigue newcomers, not show the canon. If we go by trailers, we also have one of DAI where female Hawke appears with Alistair, so, even going by the trailers alone, there are conflicts.

 

Important to note (again) that there is no 'canon', just a default worldstate that tries to make it the least confusing for new players to get into by reducing the cameos as much as it can and tying up strings early whenever possible so the player doesn't go 'who on earth is that guy and why am I supposed to care' as much as possible.

Of course it is.

It's what the characters will acknowledge and what will show up in a codex later on. That you actually need a modified world state in order to get a different version should say something.

I understand people are overprotective of their roleplaying and stories, but it is what it is.
