Why is Bioware waiting so long just to reveal a title? Beyond that so few concrete information

It's been a year+ since initial "announcement." I'd guess it's official reveal was E3 last year and they only showed concept footage. It can't be that hard to come up with a title given the amount of time that has passed. I mean Deus Ex has title and it's the first time we heard of the game. Obviously there waiting to E3 (at least I hope), but still..we have so few information beyond N7 PC male/female, more emphasis on exploration, and that's about it.

I rather have them take their time to properly bake this baby instead of pushing out half baked nonsense and promises that often lead to fans getting very disappointed.

Calm down and relax. Patience pays off in many ways.

My guess the title is so good it give away too much information about the game or they still don't know what to call it. They might even settle with 4 though they look silly if they just gave in and called it 4.

Well I agree, but a title? Then Bioware made this big deal how it's not ME4 but MEN. It would have solved that "controversy" (for lack of a better word) if they just gave a title

It tool two years for Halo 5 to receive its title. I know this is not Halo, I am just stating that some games go a long while before being named. I expect the next Mass Effect to release next year in autumn 2016, so we will most likely receive a title at E3 or N7 day. I doubt BioWare would wait until the release of the game to reveal the title. They would need it for promotional reasons.

They should announce Mass Effect: Cerberus Chronicles and let the fandom chew on that for another year or so.

Why haven't they?

Maybe because they don't feel like naming it  or revealing the title at this time.

What if possesses a number, but simultaneously a subtitle? Like Mass Effect 4: The Next Generation, or Mass Effect 4: Dark Energy...

... Just thinking out loud.

Naming the game is not really easy. Here are some tweets from Casey Hudson regarding the naming process

Found an old email with early title ideas for the original Mass Effect, like Fractured Helix, Star Citadel, the Oculon...  We hated them.

One day @DoktorZee said "I had a crazy title idea on the weekend: MASS EFFECT".  I said "well, I don't hate it," and we went with it.

They know full well if they release the title it will set off a tsunami of speculation, so the best thing they can do is sit on it for as long as possible, & only release it when they're ready to follow it up with concrete information such as trailers, actual screenshots etc, otherwise the board will just go into a totally avoidable meltdown, and as they'll want ME:N to be well received to move on from the controversial ending to ME3 , they'll no doubt do there damndest to avoid any unnecessary upset.

You are one evil little person aren't you? I don't even dare to think of the amount of caos that would cause.

You already know it's not going to be ME4. The only controversy is the one manifested by the likes of you, over nothing more than a title.

What if they are going to call it just Mass Effect? Wouldn't be surprised.

Given that we haven't heard otherwise by now i'd agree with SolNebula and I wouldn't be surprised if there was no subtitle and they certainly can't call it ME4 now after years of saying how stupid we all are for calling it that.

My best guess is that it's going to be another self-titled soft-reboot like 'Tomb Raider (2013)' or 'Thief (2014)' or 'Star Trek (2009)': in this case 'Mass Effect (2016)'.

They should just call it Mass Effect 4 - that is what people is gonna call it anyway no matter how much Bioware is trying to distance themselves from the earlier games.

Reboot doesn't necessarily mean rehashing the same cast / plot elements. Red Dead Redemption was a reboot of sorts and nobody even remembers the original because Rockstar curb-stomped it into the dust with bells on.

Revolver was a diamond in the rough, RDR was the full realization of the original promise. It's been a long time since 07. The original Mass Effect was a diamond in the rough who's promise was never truly realized imo - i'm hopeful that we could one day look back at the original games as early crude renditions of a unquestionably superior game which hopefully reaches the audience it deserves.

With you on that one, but imo I'll go with what I've said eslehwere on BSN....for any kind of reboot to work it's really got to blow every other game ever made clean out of the water otherwise it's going to be nicknamed Mass Effect:Rip-off - if it is a reboot I'm going with Mass Effect:Reborn

To the OP, honestly I'm more interested in gameplay, some more gameplay and yet more gameplay info before anything else even Setting, Story and Characters (SSC).  In fact remaining so tight lipped about the title and SSC is increasingly looking like a smart move on Bioware's part.

The existing trilogy is too current for that to be anything but silly
