I don't use mounts in the game because I actually find them a tad awkward to use on the PS4 controller. They also don't seem to get my party to a new location any faster. Because of the fast travel, I don't think I would to use them often, but from time to time I wouldn't mind using them (like in the hissing wastes). If they kleft them out of the next game I wouldn't shed a tear, but if they want to continue then it would be good to get a bit of tweaking done, such as you suggest.

Facts straight though.
The mounts do have a few uses in the game.
Speaking from personal experience.
You may need a mount to get through old terrain to an unexplored area of the land.
...As in you do not fast travel as level 20 through level 5 content to a camp you've never been to.
And it is redundant to walk on foot since gathering materials or possible hostile's are low level.
You may wish to ride a mount to the borders of a town/village/camp feeling like a proper Inquisitor. Why not. It is a Roleplaying game.
On the other hand. It would sound better to disable the mounts entirely rather than go and revamp the whole mount-system.
Make em x3 faster too.
If you add a search function there should be faster mounting/dismounting for quickly getting loot. Even better would be to allow looting while still mounted so you don't have to waste time.
