No.  Support is worthless.  Four people killing is a 1,000 times better than 3 people killing and one idiot shield boosting.  Kill fast.  Kill often.

Well... playing support is worthless if you're a good player and good at killing.  PUGs who have low skill level and bad weapons will at least be more useful by shield boosting, distracting the enemy with pets, debuffing, or playing melee Juggtank the whole game than they would by trying to kill stuff, failing, and watching from spectator mode.

Seriously, I played a Gold PUG a couple of weeks ago where I was synced by the last enemy of a wave (Banshee) that snuck up behind me just as I was killing the 2nd-to-last enemy (another Banshee), leaving one PUG to deal with this single Banshee.  After trying for 10 minutes to kill it (no joke... 10 minutes), he ran up and got himself intentionally synced.  I would have preferred if he was distracting the other Banshee with a Jugg instead of trying to play a Talon Merc with a Widow 1, no grenade gear, and no melee equipment.

Nope.  Pugs can learn a lot in spectator mode.  I play plat pugs 100% of the time.  Most of the pugs aren't ready for plat, but like me, they're chasing the almighty credit$$$... so I can't blame them for trying.  Usually, one or two people in spectator mode will ask questions while you're finishing up, so it's not a complete loss.  The problem with "support" pugs is they are usually dead just as much as regular pug players.  Worthless.

If I die, I always assume the game is about to end... probably because I'm not choosy about lobbies.  That's the gamble in plat pugs.  If only one pug player is left, I get on the mic and recommend they just die.  It's ruining my credits per hour intake.  It's a product of the rng store model.  Unfortunate, but true.

I don't even offer tips anymore.  This game's almost dead.  I stopped reviving pugs too, unless they're close.

If a new player wants to help, he/she can go play a lower level and learn hands-on... or sit back and enjoy spectator mode while making mental notes.

It seems people misinterpreted the intent of the OP. This thread is for those players who ragequit on w3 after managing only 6k points with their best tryhard pants on, especially hosts. Ergo, their throbbing Edong fails. Regular pugs don't normally quit. They are usually happy to sit in spectator mode and get their free creds for several games straight.

I guess that such misunderstanding is to be expected, as the OP is just as vauge, irrelevant and nonsensical as the thread it is based on.

Oh, well that's different. It's like that time I beat a Lancer X Ghost with my Avenger X Ghost. I check the score before extraction wave and see that I'm on top, gave my epeen a shake, and as I look around to make sure all my pugs are safe for the final moments of extraction, there was no sign of that Lancer Ghost player. Right away I knew his edong was hurt, gave mine another shake, and that was that.

Oh, and by the way, my last post here yesterday was after dancing with Miss Mary Jane, so disregard it.

The only times I see people ragequit in such circumstances are if it's a lag game, a lamegame, or a race to see who can scorewhore the most; sometimes a mix of all three.

the fact that subsequent posts by the OP also misinterpreted their own OP didn't help, but lols > coherence anyway.

Are there any people who only get 6k points at Wave 3? Never seen one. Ever. :)

I might score that less if I'm dazed and confused enough... that's where armoured compartment comes in.

But I'm starting to hate using armoured compartment gear too. Just like I'm starting to hate playing as grenade kits that aren't regular frag & homing, because you're still tempted to use these things even if you don't plan on abusing them. And thus find it robs from the experience with such win buttons at your fingertips for when things go wrong (yes, I'd rather see mission failure if so be it).

I don't think I've ever used Armoured Compartments.

Barrage Upgrade is the one I use most often, or Warfighter Package depending on the class. Or Shock Trooper Upgrade, Martial Biotic Amp, Hydraulic Joints, etc. Never used Armoured Compartments. :)

I like Homing Grenade. My Demolisher is specced for crowd control, so wide radius on arc grenades and the homing grenades split into two. :)

Yeah, I've never used Armoured Compartments until just very recently. And just now came to that conclusion.

I don't understand how folks expect new pugs to the game to keep up with those that have way more time into this game? Am I the only one that understands & remembers how much I improved since my pugs days? Not to mention manifest issues.

[...]

Blatant cheeky lie right there! I am baffled how far the average BSN user goes to inflate the ego. You'll never be able to reach the pinnacle like players of the first hours.

The people of the first hour carved the path of Mass Effect MP - the path you tread just now and use for conveniencing your e-peen.

I think you misunderstand. Of course I'll never reach pug status again outside of being more scrubby then normal after each return from an extended break. I'm saying if your epeen is so massive, you should be handicapping yourself to make it more fair for the new to game pugs, because epeen. How landing in a poor dps lobby and going full cheese is supposed to contribute toward epeen is beyond my understanding. As it just contributes to issues from my perspective. After all, if you decide you play with your little son some ME3mp and he has no manifest and skill cause he just started, you're not going to go full dps and show off now, are you? No, you handicap yourself and make sure he's having a great time.

If I handicapped myself any more than I already am, my name wouldn't even show up on the scoreboard.

Lol, what good is it going to do the rest of the lobby if I use a Katana. They'll just be watching me use a Katana to solo which will take a helluva lot longer than a decent weapon. I do agree somewhat with your point of not going just full bore murder though, I wouldn't roll out a Talon GI or something like that on gold except for very occasionally.

There is so such thing as playing a support role. :) In Gold and Platinum, it isn't uncommon for the most useful player to get a relatively low amount of points. Of course, they could just be terrible, but if they're completing objectives, shield boosting or debuffing enemies, they are invaluable, but will get barely any points. the other day I saw a Volus Vanguard with the Predator pistol. Got below 20K points, but on wave 11 he kept us all alive. So, y'know.

No. No there is not. ME3 has no "support" roles. Kill stuff or go down a difficulty, you nub.

Or if you're good enough you can play a support role and still kill stuff.

I mean okay, maybe the game takes a little longer, but I find being able to last 11 waves in a mediocre pug with no one bleeding out to be far more rewarding than yet another half-assed speedrun. Of course that's my personal opinion and hardly applicable for everyone here.

The point is that there is no reason for anyone to not be killing anything. At all. Ever.

Lol, what good is it going to do the rest of the lobby if I use a Katana.

Who say you have to take it that far?
