There is an occasional awkwardness to the postures of the characters in DA - mostly for my female Inquisitor. Her "unladylike" gait at times, her hunching over, poor Cullen's naked body which looks like his head was photoshopped onto someone elses body. Are these minor inconsistencies due to the frostbite engine? Just curious

Nah, this is pretty common in all of Bioware's past games, regardless of game engine. The cinematic animations are designed for male skeletons, which is why femquisitor/femhawke/femshep all walk as if they have a "package". Also Cullen's body is just the standard nude male body, if you look close enough you can see the seam where the head/neck model is attached to the body model.

OK Thanks - I haven't noticed the weirdness as much in previous DA games... so though it may have been due to the new engine.

I didn't like the stiffness of the characters in Dragon Age: Origins, but I played it for the story. I noticed same stiffness in the me trilogy, even though I played it first
Then I played da2, and with Inquisition... I've just grown to believe it's a quirk of Bioware animation, and now I find it more amusing then anything.

One thing that throws me off is Cassandra's posture during non-cinematic conversations. She stands in a very awkward way. And how come there's only one kid in Thedas?

I wondered about the no children thing as well. Very odd

I wish fHawke walked like MHawke. FHawke walked with her arms flapping around. Someone even made a mod to make it so she walks like MHawke.Nah, this is pretty common in all of Bioware's past games, regardless of game engine. I think it's cutscenes where female characters have male animations, in DA2 and DAI female walking and running animations out of battle were different than male PC's, but not really better.

The hunched posture looks bad on all inquistors, hopefully it doesn't carry over to the next game.
Seriously. I kept wanting to tell my female human mage to stand up straight.
I don't mind how she sits and I've grown numb to her ridiculous running animation, but unless she's ducking under a low doorway, she needs to work on her posture.

Yeah. Usually I find a roleplaying reason for Biowares walking animations. For the female Commander Shepard for example I just thought: Well, She is a soldier, very butch and so on. (I had the possibility to wear medium armor myself and yes one starts to walk differently.)
But the hunched over Inquisitor?... I have trouble to think off a reason for that posture... It is baaad.

yeah I prefer to play female inquisitors but every once and a while I feel myself wanting to shout at the screen "your not a bloody man" lol

If you are rolling a Qunari you can kind of justify it saying, well, she's 7.5 feet tall, I'm sure there are some low doorways she has ran her poor horns into .
Also, if she slouches, we won't have to see this:

Ah, Eduard Desjardins, one of my favorite trivial characters in the game. He sends the most adorable letter to Josephine to open the mission. But Frederic de Serault will always be my absolute favorite.

I just replayed ME1 and the Femshep animations aren't really that bad/noticeable. Her walk and run looks realistic and pretty neutral.
Female Inquisitor? Awful. Especially when she's having that conversation with Josie in Haven, that spread eagle sit she does, or on the throne. I wanted her to look regal, damn it! I hope with the next game they take the time to make completely separate sets of animations for each sex. Or, even better, allow you to choose in the CC, a toggle - feminine or slouchy, soemthing like that.

I asked about this before. At Vivianne's salon, she walks like a lady and my fem inquisitor.. well she lumbered around like a bow-legged ape man....
They have female animations, but used the same ones I guess for male and female quizzy.

Many people call the walk of Lady Inquisitor "male".
Dear Lord, no man in his right mind walks like this.

It looks so uncomfortable the way she walks—nobody walks like that! It's way more noticeable when you're a Human Female. The posture is less noticeable as a female Elf-Inquisitor. I recently started a third playthrough on female Qunari and I haven't spotted the awkward gait...yet and I have yet to see the awkward turtle walk on a female Dwarf Inquisitor. Hopefully, they fix it to make it so that everybody walks like an actual person in their future games.
