Yes, let us not forget how much retconning was done with Leviathan into the previous chapters just to justify the crappy ending. When you have to do that, perhaps it would have been easier to write a DLC with a better ending and no starbrat.

Everything about her infuriates me. Her fight, her conversations, the bullshit way I'm not allowed to fill her useless corpse full of lead or grains of sand or whatever the hell we're shooting.
Well if you want to kill her that badly then maybe she succeeded as an antagonist

I like any Asari with attitude like that. The masculine ones, if you will. Aria, Aethyta, Tela. It's the sweeter ones I'm not a fan of.

I'll agree she made a better nemesis than Leng. That's the only concession I'm willing to give her that doesn't come at muzzle velocity.

I don't even like that DLC. She's the only cool thing about it imo.
I'll take any kind of enemies like that over the Reapers any day. Just two supercops going head to head. Mass Effect is so much better when it's urban and political or criminal intrigue. Not the epic stuff.
I feel the same about Star Wars. I'd rather have a movie of Han and Boba Fett than the Jedi stuff.

Saren and Sovereign.
I like Mass Effect 3 and Mass Effect 2 more than Mass Effect 1, but I think the first game had the best villains of the series.

I like Harkon because he's a cut-and-dry villain. No hard choices or bullshit. Just shoot him in the leg and feel fuzzy inside.
I wanted to shoot that scumbag in ME1

A race like the Asari would have tended toward androgyny in behavior. I deconstruct the "blue space babes" trope in FF all the time. Aria, Tela, Aethyta and Liara on Mars are deconstructions of this trope.

I honestly think ME as a series is lacking in the villains department. Sovereign is not convincing as an invocation of Cthulhu (Cthulhu does not go around bloviating about why we suck so much), Saren's indoctrination is an attempt to generate pathos for the character that completely falls flat, and Harbinger's memes are at this point pretty self-explanatory in terms of why they didn't work. TIM is alright, but I never completely believed his alleged genius; the Lazarus Project seems bonkers from the start, and most of his plans seem to work largely by writer fiat.
Vasir kinda wins by default; she's what happens when you don't try too hard to make your villains cool, ominous, badass, etc. Instead, the writers just created a character with an understandable human motivation to oppose the PC, and who was credible as a threat (without being falsely set up as some 'rival' to Shepard a la Kai Leng), and let things develop from there.

I think Sovereign was at first for me.... I mean, I had different impressions when i first played. Especially in the unfathomable, unknowable part. I REALLY wanted to kill him for it.
Things kind of get old or change over time, I suppose. Although I'm still glad to kill Reapers. I just feel like they're stupid machines now.. and programmed with a single purpose. I feel like Shepard is above them. Not beneath.

Not just as an antagonist, but the mini boss fights were just as fun.

Liara has almost turned renegade in the way my ME1 Renegade Shep is slightly Paragon by ME3.... but I find her still unconvincing. She's no Vasir or Aethyta. ![]()
They take joy in violence. She seems like she's forcing it.

Tela Visor
Too bad she couldn't be a squadmate instead of .........
Man you just love to hate on Liara don't you? you don't like fine treat her like **** and leave her on the ship you only need her for 4 missions anyway (5 if you count Noveria in ME1) so what is your big issue but don't go adding another character to the team just because... I mean why would centuries old Vasir who has been a specter for decades want to work with you?
But seriously we get it everyone on the forum knows you hate Liara do you have to remind us every time the conversation even gets close to her?

What do the number of missions have to do with anything? You do know she is not required for Noveria? She doesn't have to be rescued till after Virmire

Blame ME3 and its "art" for the latter. The former was awesome and done really well.

Something I am extremely grateful for. ME2's greatest disappointment is that I can't "Elnora" Vasir... on loop.
There was a gif of that but I can't find it. If anyone can oblige...

Look at Saren's history though in the comics and books. He holds his own.
Even Leng is passible in Retribution. But then Deception sets in...
This. If not for Derpception and ME3 Leng would have been that dude. Tela Vasir takes his place instead.
TIM does jack all aside from talk trash. He'd count if we actually encountered him in a battle as himself... thanks ME3 for f*cking that up and retconning Retribution.
