If they had continued with their human centric story Drew had in mind, Harbinger could've made more sense. He was targeting them for a specific reason.

I do like the Collectors however. They're some of the toughest enemies, I think.. gameplay wise. And they (and the Protheans) remind me of stinkbugs. Which is kind of original, as far as sci-fi goes. :P

Speaking of Saren again, I was looking at ME1 bonus materials (finally) and it was interesting that Casey Hudson called him an anti-hero.

Armored human Blue Suns mercs. I find that they are the most satisfying enemies in all three games to headshot with a sniper rifle. The bloody craters in their helmets from where my bullets punch through never fail to make my day as they twitch and fall to the ground.

That is interesting. I can sort of see it, with him honestly trying to get the Council Races the best deal he thinks he can, and more generally as a Spectre before Sovereign ever showed up. All Spectres fit, really, given that they are above the law and authorized to take drastic measures at their own discretion. None of them could possibly be squeaky-clean, not if they were any good. As of Mass Effect 1 though, I think Saren is technically an anti-villain, if anything.

I'd have liked to see Saren discover the Collectors, exactly what they are and how they came to be. He might have turned on the Reapers. Or not.

Enemy to fight? The Collectors, especially the Praetorian.

Favourite villain: Sovereign, his encounter on Virmire was memorable. Too bad he got trolled by the brat...

I hate Banshees, but at the same time they are the only enemy that really makes me nervous.

That scream...

Its a love/hate relationship with them, they're the only enemy I truly fear so that makes them special.

They did continue it. Reapers stormed Earth and started building a new Reaper there by the end of ME 3.

For the same purpose though? Why target the most newcomer species for "ascension"? Humans are just getting out of their "pioneer era" of space travel, and they get a focused ass whooping from the Reapers. Drew had his reasons, but now we don't even know.

---

I never thought about the details on earth tbh. I wish we'd seen more of it. I wonder how many people they're stealing from each continent...

It pisses me off when I think about it.

I'm one of the very few people that liked the reaper fetus boss fight. Yeah, it set up some of the weaker parts of the lore, and yeah it wasn't exactly fitting with the overall theme... but it was fun.

I'll give it that it was the least ridiculous final boss fight in the series.

Of course, it is in the company of Saren Hopper, as well as perhaps the least threatening video game antagonist in history Kai Lame, but still.

To be fair the Saren hopper was challenging with ME1's gameplay.

At least until you realized Liara can punt it around indefinitely.

Other than Saren, I always liked the standard Husk. Easy to kill, melee, lift/freeze/throw etcetera, and they're fun to stomp if you get grabbed.

Although in the MP on Gold/Plat level they can be lethal if you get grabbed, because you're pretty much gonna' get wrecked if any other enemies are nearby especially if you're soloing.

I'm just glad they got rid of the Neural Shock/Overload thing they did in ME1. lol

To this day, my biggest derp includes falling to Maraduers/Cannibals fire when I was soloing Golden White and got gangbanged by husks.

Twice.

In space of ten seconds.

...on wave one...

Pse, once you learn that ramps are safe, hug-free zones, you've way less to worry about. They're not even my most hated enemy, and I'm a Vanguard D:

I honestly hate Ravagers more. When I Charge towards one it should feel like if you're in the safest place in the world, right? Nooo! Cursed acid explosions...and they have a great chance you lose your shields instantly just after the charge (very unfair IMO).

Lol Something similar has happened to me too.

I hate when you're soloing and they come at you in packs when you're trying to take out Targets or do Devices, not to mention the sneaky ones that get you from behind.

Ramps aren't completely safe.  I've been grabbed more than once on a ramp.

A couple of times I was playing my beloved Valkyrie and going toe-to-toe with a Banshee on a ramp, and when I got hit they seem to have knocked me on the same level as them and then -  Grabbed!

The first time it happened I was like "W.T.F? That's not supposed to happen!"

You have to stay above or below their level.

Yeah, than cursed 1 cm or so.....it's especially dangerous on Platinum, where Banshees seem to check 10000 times/second if they can grab you :P

There was this fun time when I was soloing again and got devices on wave three. The last one was next to ladder, down from ammo box. I see a brute coming towards me. He gets ready to charge and I'm already cursing, finger on the medi gel button... only for the fat arse bastard to get stuck on the small wall before it :D Let me tell, I breathed a sight of relief that day.

Failed the solo, yeah, but proved to myself I can do the devices(my most loathed objective on solo silver, though that may have something to do with soloing Glacier... against Cerberus), if with a bit of divine intervention :D

Saren and The Illusive Man

Saren was in Sovereign's Control during the Games, yeah, but if you know his Backstory, by reading Revelation and Evolution, you'll (probably) wind up liking him more.

And Illusive Man because ME2 Illusive Man. He tried everything to defeat the Collectors, even ressurecting Shepard, spending Billions of Credits on that alone. But was the Illusive Man an Ally on ME2 or just an enemy with mutual goals as Shepard?

See, the point is I never saw Shepard actually trusting the Illusive Man or even being an ally, even to a Renegade Shepard who could "pretend" to like TIM so he could slip more once in a while in Shepard's Direction.

Yeah Cerberus and Devices are a PAIN. Especially the Dragoons.

I swear they're on the 'Cerberus Olympic Sprint Team'. Even when you kill a pair, two more appear out of nowhere.
