Considering EA bought BioWare in 2007, I also don't think comparing pre-EA BioWare to the current one is even relevant. DLC was hardly the flavor of the month back then.
BioWare, take cues from CDPR with TW3 Expansion Pass.

Theres that word they cant wait to fling.. Hyperbole.. Coolguy nerd phrase of the week!
If I'm cool it's by accident, believe me. But anyone who hangs out on this board really shouldn't toss "nerd" around like that.
What's wrong with saying "hyperbole" there? I wasn't accusing Ashen Nedra of anything worse than making a lazy argument. There's nothing wrong with rhetorical overstatement, as long as you manage to get to the actual argument at some point.

Yeah, thanks. I should have said that outright myself. (Guess I'm guilty of lazy arguments too.)

People will idolise a company that doesn't exist to no end. And I mean that the "old" Bioware that gets put on a pedestal is typically fiction. MP complaint? Try to be BG2 fan dealing with NWN1. Console focus? Guess what KoTOR was released on and just look at the PC port despite being made on the Aurora engine. Action non-RPG combat? Jade Empire would like a word.

When there were all the complaints about how rushed Dragon Age 2 felt I made the mistake of saying that Jade Empire felt like a good first half of a game glued to a rushed second half of a game because if felt like everything I enjoyed wasn't in the second half of the game unless you liked the combat.
It is our nature to look back fondly towards our past, but at the same time there is a trend around here to say the current BioWare game is the "worst game they ever made" and then when the next one is made "that game was awesome, but this new one is the worst".

I'd rather have 5 DLCs that last 5h with a good amount of lore than a big expansion about stopping the darkspawn. Just saying.

Though I haven't played the DA:I (and DA:2) expansion packs, I gotta say I am really impressed with how CDPR interacts with the gamer community and I can't wait to play these DLCs (pretty sure they will be better than Jaws of Hakkon, seems rather short to me).
I preordered DA:I and I have ordered TW3 some time ago. By releasing one DLC every so often people will be hooked for longer periods of time. Yeah I am excited and if EA doesn't watch out CDPR will steal DA:I's thunder.

Why would we have one big expansion about stopping the darkspawn? We already achieved that in DAO and Awakening. They are still around, but they haven't found another Old God to corrupt into an Archdemon. There are all sorts of things BioWare could do with an expansion, such as going to a country that has not been explored yet in Thedas.

Since we revive the previous Revan thread about pre-defined protaginists, I will ppost in this thread as well. Expansions and DLCs doesn't have any difference, they are both prolong the game. Borderlands DLC are considered expansions too.

Wait I just bumped this thread...
