The most interesting thing about this would be the fans' reaction. Personally I would hate this, but the pool of hurt that would be this forum might make up for some of it.

Anyway, the real problem is that doing something like this loses a great deal of its bite the moment the default version of whichever race you were shows up, which is what they'd have to do since you can't have a big plot reveal for the villain include a character creator.

Oh, you can certainly troll the fanbase. The HOF will have a major role! Look, we released the CC to allow you to upload your HOF appearance into DAI. The HOF isn't playable but a major figure in the plot.

You don't have to spoil it. Though I'd give people an option to save the person Corypheus is riding inside. Otherwise it would be mean. Just with some unfortunate consequences.

Am I right that this is canonically what happened to BG's Bhaalspawn in D&D 5E? Although IIRC he was destroyed fairly quickly..

I think someone said this in another thread. I have no real knowledge of post 3.5e D&D.

Canonically, in 5th Edition, Bhaal was resurrected through either Abdel's death, or the death of Viekang.  Bhaal is reborn in the body of whoever survived the encounter.

But keep in mind, this is Abdel Adrian, the male human fighter Bhaalspawn from the oft-reviled books.  I'd like to think he's as canon as Gillian Grayson.

This is the best post in the history of BSN. Bring the Hero back Bioware. Only the Hero can save this franchise.

So, then the franchise died when the Hero did in Origins?

There's nothing stopping the writers from flubbing the story, with or without the HoF.

Save it from threads asking for the Hero to return. Although, simply killing the hero would have the same effect.

No it wouldn't, then you'd just get "Why Leliana and not the Hero?" Threads asking for it.

Just advance the timeline about fifty years.  Problem solved.

(to Iakus) You'd think so but I think that's doubtful considering we'd likely have people argue that the HoF could have some way to survive.

That's the Maker's truth. The Hero of Ferelden would be the new Corypheus. In stranger games, even death may die.

HoF is gone, period.
Stop with the whining he/she is over regardless of your personal DAO ending or headcanon because the US has watered down them all.

Obviously blood magic. Avernus did it.  :whistle:

And just another question, would the Hero's LI be in the game or was he/she kicked to the curb?

The LI doesn't want the HoF to come back. Instead, he/she will force the HoF to have lunch with his/her parents every day.

EVERY. FUC****. DAY.

That's a lot of tekst OP, anyway:

1. Which companion stays with you at the end of DAI depends on the amount of approval you have with them. So in some games, even Varric, Iron Bull and Dorian stay.

2. The HOF is important in three storylines:

- The Morrigan/Flemeth/Kieran storyline;

- Darkspawn and Blights;

- Political situation in Ferelden or Orzammar.

However as DAI showed he is not essential for these storylines. For example, we dealt with Flemeth/Mythal just fine, without him being around.

The best thing would be if the HOF slowly faded into obscurity and never appears in Dragon Age game again.

Leliana: Dead

Morrigan: Father: unknown/ mother: alive

Zevran: Dead

Fiona/Flemeth could be a special romance option/one night stand side quest.

Um... depending on your choices in Haven, Fiona may be dead.

I just want better hair and Skyhold customization options, kthxbai.

P.S. Most of my HoFs are dead.
