Level 14ish katari.

Red templars, zone 1.

I go to use pommel strike, but use a spirit tonic instead. I go straight to the fade out of shame.

This happens to me quite a lot.

Fail.

Perilous, Red Templars. I'm in the fade, as are two other guys. A lone AW is holding the line, has done a great job finishing the commander and mopping up. The *last* enemy on the map is an archer who shoots our heroic AW in the back. Mission failed. Not a diss on our AW, he'd played very well, it was just the "aaaaaaw, dammit" factor of the situation.

We had a good laugh about it in the lobby and got our revenge in the next round.

Heh, reminds me of back in the day of ME3MP on the 360 and why wireless headsets should be banned: Guy asked to take a quick break between games and if we'd mind waiting. Good group, so everyone was cool with that. He then proceeded to return to a disgusted, but laughing, lobby. When your headset is wireless, please have the decency to either remove it or deactivate the mic before you have a very noisy session of spraypainting your toilet.

Haha too bad! A quite recent ingame fail was when I was playing Perilous earlier today as an Elementalist. In zone 4 two of our teammates went down (an archer and an AW I think) and me and the Legionnare were swamped by red templars. I tried to stick close to him so I could have us both barriered and we actually managed to stay alive, but then I accidentally cast a barrier on the ground between us. Usually when you cast a spell and it miss there is no cooldown, but it is on barrier, so no barrier for us. I tried to turn and run, managed about 3 steps before the arrows plucked the rest of my health and I went into Guardian Spirit-mode. Que a red templar Shadow, and... yeah. The Legionnaire soon followed suit, but it's okay. The Inquisition will survive. Cullen is sure of it.

Level 4 Hunter in Threatening. Planted the flag and got 1-hit by the Demon Commander almost instantly (this was a while back).

One irritable fellow on the team was very vocal about how I wasted everyone's time (the C word made an appearance), despite me informing them that the Demon Commander wasn't moving. They got to clean up everything else then fight the DC on his own, so it worked out. Angry guy quit when he saw the rest of us ready up for another game.

Played a few more games with the other two guys. They were cool.

I always end up using potions accidentally while playing the Katari. On topic, I had quite a few epic fails last night as well.

Glad to be on service :) just remembered a really, really epic fail from Friday. We're talking "single-handedly-causing-group-to-wipe"-levels of fail.

Short version: accidentally kited RTC and his entourage of 15+ red templars into our group of mages.

Long version: me as a Katari, two Necros and a Keeper were doing Perilous (Red Templars, Elven Ruins.) We were doing quite good, especially me and the Keeper had a nice synergy going were I'd get the aggro, lead big groups of enemies into her Static Cage and finish them with a Mighty Blow.

At the 5th zone we got a map with two sets of stairs that leads down to a sublevel in the middle. We planted the flag and the three mages immediately beelined to one of the two rooms close to the stairs in the middle where they could get some soft cover. Me, on the other hand, started to attack enemies outside of the room. When the RTC arrived I ran away, since I didn't want him to enter the room and do his spinwheel of death attack on the mages. He followed me, together with a bunch of his cronies.

Kataris got to move to stay alive (just like sharks!) so I started to run circuits around the map. Using Combat Roll and Bull's Charge I was able to stay ahead of the mob. The mages were still in the room, killing off the enemies that approached them, but since the bulk of the enemies were going after me they weren't overwhelmed.

On my 3rd lap I saw that the Keeper had a Static Cage going outside of their room, so I ran over. I don't really know what I was thinking, I was probably operating on pure reflex. And of course the SC disappears as soon as I run through it, she must have had it going for a while. Cue a bunch of Red Templars ending up straight in the mages' laps. I realize my mistake and try to run away in a vain attempt to kite again, but by now the mages are being ground into a fine dust by the RTC (he was probably tired of running around after me). I panic, run into the room to save one of them and end up crawling on the floor instead.

From hero to zero in 3 seconds.

I just had one of those. :)

Perilous red templars with my ele, 2 templars and another ele, in the château. It went easily enough until zone 5, when my brain failed and I thought we were facing demons. I used a spirit tonic and ran into a tiny camping room. The others followed, as did RTC. It's hard to kite RTC in a small space, he cheats and doesn't leave you alone if you run into a corner by accident. 1 spin2win later, we're all dead. I left out of shame, probably before they could kick me.

I am in tears at this thread, well done...  :P

Less amusing, but it helps me with multiple classes on console taking the right action on instinct.

I always map the 'get out of trouble' action: Evade, Stealth, Combat Roll etc to the same button, [B] as it happens, as it's easiest to hit in a panic.

Similarly, straight attacks, Winter's Grasp, Lightning, consistently go into [X] and [Y].

Anything more complex, Barrier, Poison, Rampage, Counterstrike, consistently goes into [RB]

I'm not having to re-think the commands each time, particularly under pressure.

Yeah, I do that too. Doesn't stop me trying to combat roll with the AW, though. ^_^

How about how we took our friend and went to perilous for the challenge and wiped twice in row. Then our friend said if only we could do two threatenings so she would level her Elementalist enough to unlock Firestorm, so we went to threatening and wiped there too. That was fun! :D

I have the exact same setup.  Also, loving this thread.  Bring RTC into the room is particularly good.  :)  I'm sure most of us have been there.

That, and "standing close together so that DC can take us all out in one fell swoop." This happened to a PuG I was in before the nerf, I kid you not. Four players at once.

Me as a Reaver, two templars and an archer.  We are cruising along efficiently.  We are at that spot where a big spawn appears at the top of some stairs near the exit of a level, but it you don't get to the spawn quick they jump down from the ledge above to engage you.

One venatori assassin, unseen runs up and kills me before I can hardly move.  He takes one step to the right and kills the 1st templar who is engaged.  He takes two steps down the stairs and kills the last templar who was engaged.  All three of us near perfect health all dead in less than 10 seconds.  The archer hanging back as he should runs but with a whole mob after him the inevitable wipe happens soon after.
