So I am trying to obtain the trophy "On Burning Wings". which is to defeat this dragon at the altar. I am also on a nightmare playthrough and have yet to lower the difficulty.

I have made another save before I decided who drinks from the well of sorrows because I did not intend for this to be my path and I just want to speed through this.

So my question is....can I lower the difficulty for this fight...get the trophy then load up a nightmare save and everything be ok? I don't want to disable the trophy for beating it on nightmare. Cheap I know but I just want to beat the game and this isn't even the path I want anyways.

Thanks

Well, it's a really easy dragon compared to others, so I'd say don't lower the difficulty. It doesn't call in reinforcement-babies and is defeated at half health.

If you beat the boss battle on your way to the well (even if you talked Calpernia out of fighting -- you had to beat the sidequest to get to that), the dragon battle will be a cakewalk. And, you start the dragon battle from the War Table, so you can gear up and change you party if you have to. Don't lower your difficulty.

If you save, take the off path to get to the dragon battle and beat the dragon, you should get the achievement. Then you can reload from the save and continue on the path you would rather take.
