I think i ll go for the krogan (momentary lapse of memory) if concussive shot is a 3-4 second power and squad incendiary ammo.
THen i wonder if i take the mercenary (another momentary lapse of memory, i should sleep) for dealing with armor faster with the nades and high weapon damage or Thane/justicar for another throw/lift power + armor power.
Btw are squadmate hitting reliably husk on lateral movement with sniper rifles ? I have no idea what their accuracy is.
No big deal though, should be pretty easy at this point.
edit: Concussive shot is a 12 s CD, wtf, i ll take jacob then
Edit 2 : i m tryin a full reave with samara atm, it s not very usefull. Should i keep trying or is it really not worth it ?
Edit 3: maybe it s the right time to try a fully evovled singularity and/or shockwave ? SIngularity didnt seem usefull yet except with liara on azure

Last time I went there I used Jacob and Jack. Jacob was taken for Squad Incendiary Ammo and Pull, Jack - for Pull. Should've probably taken Grunt or Thane in Jacob's place, he died too much. Incendiary Ammo can be replaced with Jack's Warp Ammo. My character was an Engineer with Overload, AI Hacking and Inferno Grenade. Weapons were Avenger, Predator, Locust

I don't know what difficulty level you are playing at. I assume you are playing as an Adept.
If Normal or Veteran, then any of Samara (Area Throw/Heavy Reave), Jack (Area Pull), Thane (Area Throw/Unstable Warp) and Jacob (Area Pull) would work.
If you are playing on Hardcore or Insanity, then your two best choices are Samara (Area Reave/Area Throw) and Mordin (Incineration Blast/Area Cryo Blast). These two will strip while your Adept uses Singularity to control choke points and Throw to kill any Husks that get by the Singularity. One thing to note, however, is that even with 6 biotic upgrades, Samara's Area Reave is not quite enough to fully strip the armor off of Husks at level 30 on insanity.
Here is an example of an Adept on insanity with Samara and Mordin.

I wrote a long reply about the SM, which was stupid because this thread is about the IFF mission. ![]()
Mordin / Samara is one of the strongest teams there is for this mission, but especially if Shepard is a Vanguard or Soldier because of Squad Cryo.
Keep in mind though that if you are level 30, Samara will not be able to group armor strip husks with Area Reave. If Shepard has Area Reave, he can though because of extra bonuses. So Mordin / Samara is still a great team on this mission in that case, if Samara is spec'd for Throw Field (and her role is as husk finisher).
As you note, CS has too long a cooldown for what you get on squadmates in ME2. That said, I have used Garrus on this mission nearly as many times as any other squadmate. But that power will only be somewhat decent if it is spec'd for area and you can get a group to clump very closely due to the radius.

Another strong option is Mordin + Miranda or Thane (for Unstable Warp). This setup has a strong multiplicative factor due to triple combo warp bombs: Mordin IB + Shep Pull Field + Unstable Warp. (I'm assuming we are talking about Adept on Insanity here).
Scratch that. I just realized you can't warp detonate husks.

yeah, sorry, i m an adept on insanity. I dont see unstable warp coming on handy against husk, but myabe abomination are to be dealt with it ? i dont remember.
I ll try shockwave and singularity with shep. Mordin and samara or jacob will come along

I took Mordin and Miranda on that mission.
Unstable Warp is, if I am not completely mistaken (still too new in this Trilogy
), good as an area effect. And since there are so many husks at once during that mission, you can strip their armor in a wider-spread area.
Shockwave only works against them once their armor is stripped on Insanity, right?

On my last playthrough I used Jack and Jacob for that mission. Most of the time I usually have Zaeed and Miranda

Unstable warp only enhance the biotic explosion blast radius, not the warp effect itself AFAIK. Here the husks cannot be primed so ...Unstable Warp is, if I am not completely mistaken (still too new in this Trilogy

For shockwave, i ll try and see if it works.
I have cleaned everything except arrival DLC and i m only level 28. (Those hammerhead missions with no save were a bit of pain as the jump was not always kicking in, i wonder why. Used to be fine with it)

So no opinion on squadmate sniper ability? I havent notice if they shoot air a lot along this run.
Do not pick squad mates based on weapons. They only do 30% of the damage that Shepard does.

Sniper is ok on squadmates in this mission, they don't miss anymore than others. But it all depends on what you are trying to do. I don't have incisor so most of the time I don't worry about squadmate weapon damage (except for maybe Legion). As a vanguard or soldier, I would probably give Garrus the Viper since I would have squad cryo. If I was on an adept, I wouldn't even worry about it and would probably leave him on Mantis so that he might do decent single target armor damage.
I also tend to ignore warp explosions completely in this missions since there aren't many abominations at all. Ragdolling a group of stripped husks is all it takes, so warp is less useful than pull field, throw field, or cryo blast.

I would have tried cryo blast, thats a good idea. I was going for squad armor piercing, SW, WideSing and pull field on shep, but that makes too much, lol.i really want to try SW, so i guess i ll take jack

Zaed do decent damage, and if i take him wit te viper, i think he ll strip a nice number of husks

Shockwave might be better on Shepard, and if you take Jack, just go Pull Field, for faster cd. Then if you bring Mordin, probably best to have him spam incineration blast for group armor damage.

As I recall there is a small window of opportunity after priming a husk to detonate it. Is that not correct?
Nope. What I was remembering is that if you pull a very rapid Slam-Warp combo you can sometimes land the warp before the husk dies. I had always *assumed* that meant I had set off a Warp bomb. But I just tested it, and it turns out that you don't actually get any AOE damage! (go figure.)
So I stand corrected. Better to double down on AOE armor stripping and immobilization.

I recommend Tali+Grunt or Tali+Garrus.
Tali because Combat Drone is all-around useful for drawing husks and is an absolutely OP power against Scions (if you stand at the correct range, they spaz out and can't decide whether to attack you or attack the drone).
Garrus because of his AP/Tungsten ammo and sniper, which once again turns Scions into a delicate paste. His concussive shot is also a OHK against husks once the armor is down.
Grunt isn't as good for most of the mission as Garrus, but Incendiary ammo is pretty useful and since he's tanky and can bowl husks over, he's good for select parts like the husk rush in the final section.

I wld say i wouldnt have thought about her, lol, and had no idea the drone could be usefull. I should have as the eclipse drones a quite a pain.
I went with samara and mordin, and most most their CD were for armor. I even use quite a few level 3 warp (i ms peaking about the final rush).
So armor was the main issue with an bastion adept shep (squad AP, Wide Sing, pull field, level 2 SW, level 3 warp). Both SW and Sing were fun and usefull.
I ll not be redoing this mission just to test other config, as i m pretty impatient to finish the run, but it s a fun mission to optimize for.

Haha, at first I thought the drone is a boring power, but it was so helpful (I was playing engineer so I had it as my own power). It can even distract Harby, ha!

There's no need to redo it, anyway--those combos also work for the Collector Base stages. You can try them there, if you want. Or not. ![]()
I overlooked Thane, who is arguably the best character for fighting Collectors since he can kill whole mobs of Husks if you drop their armor first. You can also opt for Legion instead of Tali as your drone user, but that one is a matter of personal choice. Both are good (especially if you have the GPS, which gives Tali a lot of extra firepower).

sure but i like the husk rush to test config. I ll try it one stage as u suggest. There's no need to redo it, anyway--those combos also work for the Collector Base stages. You can try them there, if you want. Or not.
BTW i tried explosive drone on legion for the heretic station and Tali with attack drone. I found the first one not doing anything to attack a hunter which ignored it and never triggered the boom... so is explosion drone a liability or was it me witnessing a bug ?

I've never actually used explosive drone but with attack drone I've never had any problems with getting attacks to register.
