You could look into the Civilian Marksmanship Program. Sometimes they get a few. Might be awhile until we see more carbines though.

We were supposed to be getting a boatload of surplus M1s and M1 Carbines from South Korea, but there was another ban kinda thing. (Thanks, Obama! Seriously, this time.)

"I stopped military-style weapons from entering the US, something or another."

"Wait, you mean all those highly sought after M1 rifles? The ones that are literally never used in crimes, and popular with collectors?"

*sigh*

There's still a few Garands left, at least.

My personal favorite handgun (even if it's impractical as all-hell to actually fire):

I'm sure I could fire that bad boy fairly practically, sweetheart.  It takes a man like Clint Eastwood, or a man with arms like John Cena, or a woman who has gripped a lot of penis'.

What would you do with that gun if you had it, Voxr?

Which one the AMT? Or the M1.

The AMT, oh you know I'd probably clean it, maintain it, take it to the range shoot it. Take it out to my families acreage shoot some watermelon. I wouldn't be interested in it as an EDC really I'd probably get something like a NAA Guardian for that.

Spoiler
The M1 I would like to have because I find them to be a interesting firearm. And it's a nice piece of history and Americana.

I would also like to own an M1 Garand. The piece is a legend.

I would love to get my hands on a classic repeating rifle. Something like this, the Winchester model 1866.

I don't have any excessively powerful handguns at the moment.  Maybe someday.

Although, I did just get my tax refund and the Pawn Shop has a Desert Eagle in .50 AE right now...

I just can't justify dropping that kinda dough on a single firearm. At least not right now, anyways.  I don't even wanna know how much it costs for a box of .500 S&W lol.

-------------------------------

You can find Garands all day at gun shows and sometimes the shops, but expect to pay around $800, and that's for the ugly ones. The CMP is about the only way to get one at a decent price anymore.

If our government actually grew some balls and repealed gun laws put in place by an obvious false flag that would be great.

Favourite rifle is the FN FAL

FN-FAL_Calibre_7.62.jpg

7.62 battle rifles are better than 5.56 rifles.

Favourite sidearm is definitely the trusty old 1911

1911.1.jpg

However with our current laws I'm only eligible to have bolt action rifles and not even good one like a Mosin, .22LR only.

I wonder how the KRISS Vectors are and if they're any good.

Definitely want an FAL, those things are awesome. And yes, 308. is always better than 5.56.

I wanted an Xm8 but heard that they're not produced for civilians and that they're not that good, plus coming in 5.56, it lacks the stopping power of many other rifles.

I personally own an AR-15 with a 1/7 twist barrel which allows me to shoot up to 700 yards using 5.56 x 77 grains. I also own several pistols. I do plan to buy a .300 win mag soon. I am not sure on which company though. I also am planning to buy a mosberg 500 tactical for home defense.

Well it helps that the Hessians got super drunk and their commander tucked a note warning of the American advance into his pocket without ever reading it.

Incorrect. The Hessians were on alert and repelled a small attack from a militia, then concluded THAT was the attack they were warned about and proceeded to feast. Then the came the real attack.

In which case it's even more embarrassing that they lost. Especially since not a single American was killed by Hessian fire (the only two American deaths were from exposure during the march), and much of the Americans' powder was wet.

Yeah, instead of shooting one another we'd just bash one another's heads in... so much better.

So we can go back to stabbing and bludgeoning each other instead?

its much easier to kill people with guns than with, for example, knifes. i doubt there would be amok runs with 30 deads if the attacking persons would be armed with nothing but a knife. just an example.

and i know that this is a very unpopular opinion in "certain" parts of the world.

The fact is the guns are here to stay. And if someone really wants a gun, it isn't hard to get one illegally, especially here in the States. If guns suddenly became illegal, the Cartels would just have one more thing to smuggle across the border.

How about we focus on mental health care, as most of the gun related deaths in the world are suicides?

It would also keep a psycho from running amok and killing thirty people if each of those thirty people carried a gun to defend themselves.

Just saying.
