Not surprisingly, Deathangel is completely ignorant with regards to firearms.

A Semi-Automatic Rifle. You could call it a "Battle Rifle" if you'd like, but honestly that's not a good term to use, kinda pretentious really. Like calling a compact off road car a "Rally Car" without it actually being a car for rallycross.

A battle rifle is the term for a service rifle that uses a full-size rifle cartridge such as the 7.62. There's nothing pretentious about it. It's just plain incorrect nomenclature. The M-14, the G3 (Heckler and Koch), and the FAL (FN) are the three battle rifles that come to mind.

Depending on the cartridge, you'd call it an assault rifle if it's an intermediate cartridge (and optionally has a selective fire system).

Technically speaking, said compact off road car can be relatively easily modified to perform for rally cross. I know several models of Mazda and Subaru have the engines, suspension (sans driver preference), and gear system (again, sans driver preference) already preset for off-road maneuvering.

I have a few. Mostly defensive firearms. I like my AR15 platform, but I HATE THAT ROUND. The puny .223 is such a joke. Honestly if I had the dough I'd buy a SCAR17S (civilian model of the SCARH Battle Rifle), in glorious .308 and slap a leupold MK4 HAMR optic on top. Maybe add an angled grip or bi-pod on the lower rail. Man.... That would be a SWEET kit.

oh yes, because Germany didnt have over 6 million reported crimes last year and is not the source of 28% of Europe's human trafficking victims and isnt home to criminal organizations from all over the world

oh, and for reference, the US has close to 12 million crimes but a population over 3 times that of Germany, meaning Germany has more crime per capita

EDIT: and here's one more fun fact - people in Germany fear crime a lot more than in the US, close to 70% of Germans are afraid to walk alone at night

Then you shouldn't buy one. It would be a waste of money. Especially if you do not enjoy any sports that involve guns. Go spend your time and energy on things that you do enjoy, as long as they do not involve hurting others.

If he doesn't feel himself to be at risk from human trafficking, then that's both good and bad...

hmm, for sport shooting you can go to a shooting range, and for hunting and "home/self defense" you dont need a semi-automatic AR. and "defense against an oppressive government"? well, the government controls the army... and they have ballistic vests, full automatic ARs and heavier weapons... just sayin.
but thats just my opinion.
the video Zerc posted here makes a good point: the only reason for having a gun is: "f*ck off. i like guns." :D (and yes, i know its comedy)

I never said you needed that sort of weapon for those things. I was responding to your question of "Why do you need guns?". If you didn't mean guns in general, then you should have been more specific. As for the government, if you haven't noticed, most modern militaries have a fair amount of trouble fighting guerrilla movements. I don't expect that to be necessary, but being prepared is wise.

lol, There are about 1.4 million US Military Active Personnel. And only about 70 percent are war ready and/or capable of conducting direct action missions.

There are 22 million civilians who own assault weapons in the US......

TWENTY TWO MILLION.

The Taliban was said to have 65,000 to 90,000 fighters at the precipice of their Organization.

Now tell me.

How did that little War in Afghanistan go for the US Military.

Yeah.... Um no.

The US military would get ROCKED by US civilians. Absolutely ROCKED. The casualties would be in the 50th percentile for the US military.

Now....I'm not taking into consideration the Navy and Airforce. But.... Lets be honest. War's are decided on the ground. Period.

At the end of the day it's about the infantry winning or losing the war.

oh, coming up with statistics.

okay, after a quick research on the internet:
germany: less than 1000 people killed by firearms per year, including suicides which make ~90% of total number of deaths; less than 100 murders.

usa: over 20000 people killed by firearms per year, dont know if it includes suicides or not.

tell me again that more guns mean more safety. or that the usa are a safer place than germany.

I never said you needed that sort of weapon for those things.

well, this is correct. i´m sorry on this point.

Then you shouldn't buy one. It would be a waste of money. Especially if you do not enjoy any sports that involve guns.

i dont know if i enjoy such sports or not, i´ve never tried it yet. but even if i would enjoy it, i wouldnt need a gun at home.
and even if i would want to buy a gun: i couldnt, not without a license. gun control laws, you know :D

Violent Crime in the USA is WAY down in the last 20 years and it continues to plummet. Contrary to what the liberal bias media would lead one to believe.

The USA is a very safe Nation that enjoys many great benefits and a very good standard of living.

Look up the Uniformed Crime Report. The UCR. And see for yourself.

However....We do have a policing issue in this nation. But I think it's more race orientated that guns vs. no guns type of thing.

And the wealth gap and global warming our the biggest obstacles the US is facing in the near future.

So.... There are issues, major ones, but they're pretty "1st world problems" type of things.

*Except the global warming thingy, lol. That's gonna kill billions in the next 200 years or so if we don't lock it down*

There is an easy solution to that. Eat more of what I had last night: Garlic Chili Shrimp. Garlic is both good for you and wards off bloodsuckers, Chili helps with any allergies and werewolves fear crustaceans. It's good and good for you.

Easy peasy.

"You cannot invade mainland United States. There would be a rifle behind each blade of grass."- Admiral Yamamoto.

I think this statement (and by extension, it's creator) is rather idiotic and uninformed.

As a veteran who fought the Taliban, I can tell you that after seven months serving with Delta Company, 2nd Battalion, 503rd Infantry Regiment, 173rd Airborne in the Korangal Valley of Afghanistan in 2007-2008 in what was called the 'deadliest place on earth' by CNN, we lost around 11 Soldiers in the entire Battalion. In return, we killed somewhere between 250 - 700 Taliban fighters.

We accomplished our primary objective of opening the Korangal Valley for international crossing between Afghanistan and Pakistan, and long-term interdiction, disruption, and destruction of Taliban movement in the area. After we were done, it wasn't our fault they moved back in and the Afghan National Army is made up of incompetents who couldn't protect the region for more than 11 months before it became a crisis zone again.

Also, the precipice of their organization was in their heyday, almost 20 years ago, well before we moved in and kicked them out.

We would utterly annihilate our own civilians in minutes. You really think the peashooters that civilians have can stand up to the military? I don't think you understand the nuances of modern warfare and just how advanced we really our as a military. And you willfully denied the use of air, ass, and navy gunfire to make it seem 'more equal'. I assure you, it is not more equal.

lol, who are you talking about.

ISIS??? You really think ISIS is gonna get a nuke.... Man. I mean, if you do, well.... I guess, that's a nice thought.

I assume you're thinking about Iran. In that case, why would it matter. Really....Pakistan has nukes. Lots of them. And they hate the fvck out of the Jews and our western values and yet....... No boom boom from Pakistan Nukes. Tons, tons of Terrorists there in Pakistan. And yet... No Nuclear attack from them.

Gee, I wonder why.

Could it have to do with $$$$$. It just might, lol.

The thing that keeps most countries from using nukes is the threat of mutually-assured destruction.

Radical Islamic terrorists, however, don't care if the entire world burns, because they thinks they'll go to heaven if they sacrifice themselves to kill infidels.

And Iran is a huge state sponsor of terrorism.
