The suggestion is to change those spider-like fear representations in the Fade to bears. It would be closer to player's experience (bears in Hinterlands, Emerald Graves and Emprise du Lion made me feel uncomfortable at least) and spiders are too common (though, on the Storm Coast they spawn as often as bears do, but they're easier to kill => less annoying).
Or to change it to something in Silent Hill style.
Or to spider-like red lyrium crystals. In other words, these things' appearance must be more personal. Cassandra, Blackwall and Sera saw them differently.
