Losing XP/challenges on disconnect was the difference between completing the weekend challenge and not

It was the last game we had time for, and at the end my wife got to the end-of-match screen, and it said her level was 0 and there was a problem getting data from the server (she was also hosting, so I guess it means EA).

 

She would have gotten the last level she needed, but instead she got 0 XP. And that's the only reason she didn't complete the challenge.

 

I know biower has seen posts complaining of this problem, and I know biower thinks it's the lesser of two evils; that it's too difficult to calculate partial XP fairly and people would bail out of more games if they could keep their XP/challenge progress.

But every time there's an edge case like this, I'm going to complain about it anyway.

I would say their thought process did not include '1 in 10 games will crash and the person will lose all exp,'  It's the one reason I have ZERO guilt the odd time i enter a match on the final wave.  I feel they only owe me a few hundred grand in exp anyway.

I've made a thread on this, as well. It's easier when you're able to join private lobbies with friends. But not everyone has that luxury. It's for this reason, along with many others, that I feel not allowing EXP garnering on a per-zone basis was a big, big mistake in this game's design.

At least that much in experience owed.

Crashing in zone 4 or 5 is soul crushing. It is happening to me much more often now.

Completed a match at the weekend and got ZERO experience for it. That was a new one......

This should be possible, when you kill stuff, or assist, it does show on the screen you get XP, either revive or support XP (little green and purple text balloons), surely they can at least give you that per level, not per game ..?  That way you still get something, even if the game crashes in later stages or host migration fails..
