Could be a precursor to the alleged DLC.

For same strange reason I can host mixed faction matches on PC, still had normal match minutes ago when joined.
I hope it's a bug; Threatening and Perilous matches are nightmares in this state D;
(For the uninformed- this state (mixed enemy types, and having to fight two bosses in Threatening matches and all three on Perilous) was the multiplayer April Fools' joke, as it were- the mixed state went away the next day. So I don't know why it's suddenly back; it had better not be a permanent fixture or I'll never win another Perilous match!)
Most veteran players enjoy the challenge. You would assume it is intentional since the spawns weren't changed on the weekend so they didn't accidentally revert to the April Fools spawns instead of the normal ones.
Oh sure, but not everyone's a veteran
Kinda unfair to the people who are good enough to beat single bosses on the harder matches but get squashed by multiple ones (like myself). I mean, EVENTUALLY I'd probably get good enough to laugh at even all three bosses assailing me on Perilous, having the best equipment and tons of promotions, but I (and many others) don't have that right now, and getting stronger is all the harder when you lose a lot more matches in the fifth round.
I wouldn't object to them adding another harder difficulty (like ME3's Platinum or whatever) or having mixed enemies be an option when you set up your matches, but if this is the permanent state of affairs, I think I'll be too disheartened to continue MP and retreat back to single-player permanently.
I figured they were testing it the first time, to see if it worked for inclusion as a 4th difficulty setting. Although I have heard there is a beta for that sort of thing.
You could just play threatening until it passes, when we had the key bug patch i just played routine for the month or so that it took to fix it.
I assume you mean Routine? XD Threatening matches aren't -impossible- but they're not really conducive to leveling up my not-good-enough-for-Perilous characters, which is what I've been working on. (Having the Demon Commander knock you flat and slow you when Samson is bearing down on you? not much fun, even when Calpernia's not at the party too. :P)
I might play a few Routine matches to grind out weapon kills for the challenges, but we'll see what BW's response is, I guess.
I asked about it on Twitter and BioWare is being... coy.
Makes me think "on purpose" and not sure if related to anything or just keeping us on our toes/f**king with us. ![]()
Agents, enemies of the Inquisition have heard of our failure and are joining forces to punish us, goodluck this week. #DAIMP #DAITrialbyFire
So, guess ALL the platforms are being punished for new-gen console failure?
LMFAOOOOOOOOOOOOOO
O: huh, is this gonna be a thing that happens now every time the group weekend challenge fails? I dunno if that's incentive to play more; I'm more likely to not play at all until that nonsense stops.
This is definitely the first group challenge failure that I've seen since I started playing multiplayer, but I've only been playing since February; have there been failures before then?
Yeah noticed this too.
On a threatening game recently both the Venatori and Red Templar commander spawned. Let's say me (playing assassin) and the katari dropped the instant both commanders used their specials. Firewall + lyrium shockwave combo certainly hurts.
On the other hand Orlais map has been buggy of late - enemies spawning underground. Specificly the Orlesian destruction level.
Matches restarting before coming back to lobby - I finished a game and got dropped back to wave 2. Played through it again and got no experience anyway.
Also I get animation locked every once in a while, when attacking. Have to jump to break it.

We had one other group fail with punishment: the Druffalo weekend.
Challenge was to kill a certain number of Druffalo across all communities tallied together. To "help" with that, BioWare ensured one Druffalo for every match at all difficulties.
We did not succeed and the punishment was an increased chance of Druffalo spawning for the remainder of the week.

Heyyyy I remember that weekend. The group challenge failed on that? Crazy. Wonder how we failed with the Druffalo (especially with at least one per match) but succeeded on the recent, similar Giant challenge- I'd rather fight a Druffalo than a Giant any day of the week.

I seem to recall the Druffalo goal number was pretty high. The Giant goal was not quite as bad.
Also, Druffalo seem really good at wiping out an entire team and ending a match... moreso than I have seen and encountered with Giants.
I like how the "punishment" is to dissuade people from playing their game all week, encouraging them to just wait for the next weekend challenge. Smooth move, Bioware.
You've apparently confused "fun online gaming" with "bad reality television shows."
u juz got served.
I like the monster mash. I think it should become a regular random feature.
In fact, there should just be a red templar commander in every zone.
IN FACT, make all enemies on the map RTC and DC's!
And then troll the victory cutscene with a wave of archers
omg just druffalos and war-nugs as far as the eye can see....
ok im done now.
