This is one aspect of the game they definitely need to rebalance.  They put in the effort in making these treasure rooms part of the multiplayer experience, and the player base has simply jettisoned it.  DAMP is sooooooooooooooooooooooo barebones already, they can't afford to have the player base simply refuse to play certain parts of it.

I don't know what they can do, but they need to make these treasure rooms relevant.

Don't worry, they'll make opening the doors mandatory to progress to the next level... Which means they'll force you to have 1 character of each class otherwise you don't advance.

Bioware always finds a way to force us to play their way...

We stay inside the room in area 5 because it doesn't look like a sound strategy to go in the big open area when there are countless archers doing a **** load of damage? They force us to go outside by locking the door and removing access to the font... (like getting gold is actually worth a damn in this game )

We don't use a character of each class in our party? They make every single door require the only missing class...

You have a tank with 4 abilities to keep agro? Every single enemy is targeting the Rogue still idling at the loading area...

You defeat 80+ enemies like a real mean machine? You need the key that didn't drop... because it's freaking important to have a key to open a door made of plywood...

You don't get the treasure because it's on a pedestal and you know there's gonna be a guardian possibly wiping your party? They remove the pedestal... At least this one was good for us, we stopped opening doors altogether after that...

You don't like dogs? They introduce levels with 30+ dogs and 2 enemies... Eventually they'll replace the 3 Bosses by dogs, the RTC will not "spin to win" anymore but "bark to win" instead! The reach of that bark will put to shame even archers!

As I said, they'll find a way to force us to open those freaking doors and they'll make damn sure you won't be rewarded for all their non-sense.

I open doors, still switch to needed classes when I play.... but truth is, it's a waste of time. The one thing that could've given this game some flavor is also one of the blandest parts of the game because you never get anything exciting from treasure rooms (not even schematics). When I buy large chests or get commendation chests, sometimes I get something interesting... but treasure room chests, never.

I wouldn't even recommend beginners/casuals to open doors because the amount of time wasted chasing down an arcane horror far outweighs what you receive in those mediocre chests. There is ample gold found in pots scattered in each zone as well as completion of maps that you can get a large chest with each successful run as well as shaving time for the next run. Items found are a total joke and do not justify time expended that can break up said group since it happens all too often.

I will break every single pot I can see as opposed to foolish pugs that just spam the f4 button because it doesn't disrupt flow of battle from the group. That button should have a mute feature all to itself.

one thing that I think they could do going forward it instead of having you open doors to go to a treasure room, you can open class doors to have a branched path off of the map that you're on to different paths that you wouldn't have had otherwise if you didn't bring that class. so that way you kind of get a little bit of variance in the map to play depending on what classes you happen to bring.

Have it lead to a mini boss who can drop a free chest key or something, small for routine, medium for threatening and large for perilous. That would force people to bring all the classes

Not the doors again. Everyone just hurry up and get better gear so you won't want to open any doors any more.

Never gonna happen.

A pot must be smashed.

A door must be opened.

A chest must be looted.

I'll always go with the flow of the team I'm on but when it's just me the only reason not to open is if it isn't there.

If they do add dragon bosses in the next dlc it will probably have a million hp, aoe ohko stomp, yet defeating it in a group will lead to a mystery drop containing an army dirk.
