UPDATE 4/25/15: The Casual Jack mod has been updated to version 1.2, which makes the mod now 100% compatible with both the JohnP's Alternate MEHEM (JAM) mod and the Mass Effect Happy Ending Mod (MEHEM), in addition to making the mod compatible with Texplorer and allows it to be safely scanned and added to Texplorer's texture database.   :)

About the Mod
Hey all - were you like me and completely flabbergasted at Jack's new clothes in ME3?
White tape across her exposed body and breasts?
Pants with missing sides so you can see the skin of her thighs and a**??
All worn by an "Instructor" at a special school who taught teenagers?!?

Yeah, I thought's Jack ME3 clothes were pretty damn ridiculous, especially considering that BioWare made no changes to her design after it was decided that her role in ME3 would be a teacher at Grissom Academy... that's right, they designed her first, then came up with her story without then making any edits or changes to her design afterwards to better reflect her new role. A key rule in Design, folks: If you first make a design up, but then the parameters and content of what you need out of that design later changes... you go and create a NEW design OR you EDIT & UPDATE your previous design based on those updated parameters, you don't just say "F*** it" and keep the old design without changing anything.

So I've been working on a new mesh mod to give Jack a better ME3 outfit, while still keeping her rebel/punk identity.
Fortunately for me, her casual clothing from the ME2 Alternate Appearance Pack fit the bill just perfectly.  ;)

Required Files/Programs
This mod does require WarrantyVoider's DLC Patch files to be downloaded and installed in the "Mass Effect 3\Binaries\Win32" folder: http://www.mediafire...sr9/binkw32.rar

Download Link
Available on the NexusMods website: http://www.nexusmods...ect3/mods/340/?

Install Instructions
Just drag and drop the "DLC_CON_Jack" folder into your Mass Effect 3 DLC folder (Mass Effect 3\BIOGame\DLC). :)

Q&A
1. Really? I just drag and drop this into the game's DLC folder?
Yep. :)

2. No, seriously, I don't have to fiddle with Texmod and TPF files or try and and play around with Texplorer in ME3Explorer to replace textures?
Not at all :) This mod is using a new method of integrating custom textures into DLC-type mods without the need for Texmod or permanent texture replacement - all the new textures required for the character's new outfit are stored directly in the mod's DLC folder.

3. What if I don't like the mod, how do I get rid of it?
You just delete it from your game's DLC folder.

4. And it doesn't affect anything in the base game or the other DLCs?
Nope, the mod is entirely self-contained.

5. ... Really?
Really :)

Mod Compatibility
- As of version 1.2, the Casual Jack mod is now completely compatible with being safely scanned and included in the texture database of Texplorer. :)

- As of version 1.1, the Casual Jack mod is now 100% compatible with the JohnP's Alternate MEHEM (JAM) mod and the Mass Effect Happy Ending Mod (MEHEM).  :)

- Currently, the Casual Jack mod replaces Jack's outfit for the base game only - it does not replace Jack's clothing in the Citadel DLC.

I'll just pretend while on shore leave/after the war she's showing her personal flare until you get it going for the Citadel DLC. ;)

I was thinking the same thing. I actually think it's a nice touch if she changes during Citadel.

In any case, it's looking great AVPen. Fits her perfectly.

Now if there was an option to remove that damn visor from ME2 version...

Great work! When I learn how to mod my game this'll be one of the essential mods I'll install :)

Was having some issues on the texture side of things with this mod, but I actually figured out how to add new textures to a DLC-type mod and have them only affect the files of the DLC, so no need for the user to have to fiddle with Texmod or Texplorer - all the needed textures are in the DLC and do not affect the base game.  :D

So I'll be adding this to the Nexus later tonight, will update the main post with the link when I do.

EDIT: Ok, maybe I'll be putting the mod up tomorrow instead, lol  :P got super-busy tonight testing out my new texture DLC mod method on several of my planned mods, learned a fair number of things and figured out how to do my planned "Miranda: Horizon Armor" and "Maya Brooks: Cerberus Uniform" mods and have the new textures only affect the files of the DLC mod and not the entire game  :) (that means no more screwing around with Texmod or Texplorer, thank god)

Hey everyone, the Nexus site is being a complete a**hole right now - every time I try to upload my mod files, the upload hangs and quits, no matter what browser I'm using.

So until Nexus gets their sh*t together.... I've uploaded my mods to my Mediafire folders instead.

My Casual Jack mod is now online and I've updated the first post of the thread with the mod's download link and more information on the mod itself.  :)

There is some minor clipping with her hand and the jacket, when you talk to her at Grissom. It is still present for default outfit, but longer jacket makes it more noticeable. Here is the pose:

Spoiler

Also, don't think it's your mod, but after installing both zip files, TAB key started to open developer console. I have TAB mapped to the "look" command so it was a weird change. :)

Jack looks amazing in this outfit though! Do you know, is it possible to remove the visor from this outfit in ME2? The one thread I found about that did not give an answer. :)

Yeah, nothing I can do about the minor clipping with that one scene, it's just how BW did that animation (they should have had the arm a little bit more forward). And you're right, the "Tab button = Console" deal isn't from my mod - it's from WarrantyVoider's DLC Patch, which is required for this and other DLC-type mods to work with ME3.

With regards to removing the visor from Jack's ME2 AAP, I imagine that "yes, it is possible" (as the visor isn't part of her biker-clothing mesh itself, but it's part of her head mesh in the same file), but I myself have little to no experience with modding ME2 models (only with extracting them).

Good news, folks - I've gotten the Casual Jack mod to work nicely now with JohnP's JAM mod: :)
jack_jam01_zpstp4welzn.jpg
jack_jam02_zpsoox36w4j.jpg

It does require a Patch for JAM, though, which I will be uploading online a little later tonight (I'll update the post when it's available)

UPDATE: The Patch is now online: http://www.mediafire...k_JAM_patch.zip
The patch has also been added to the mod's NexusMod page as well.

Hey folks, I've released a updated version of the Casual Jack mod, version 1.1 - with this new release, the mod is now 100% compatible with both the JohnP's Alternate MEHEM (JAM) mod and the Mass Effect Happy Ending Mod (MEHEM). :)

To updated the new mod, just delete the old DLC_CON_Jack folder from your DLC folder and add the new version - if you're using JAM with the previous Casual Jack JAM patch, I recommend deleting the DLC_CON_JAM folder and reinstalling the JAM mod.

lol, And less than a day after I release version 1.1 of Casual Jack, I go and finish an updated version 1.2 of the mod.  :P

With version 1.2 of Casual Jack, the mod is now completely compatible with Texplorer and can be safely scanned and included in Texplorer's texture database.

I recently romanced Jack and I have to say that it's one of my favorite romances in Mass Effect, if not the favorite. So, I'll definitely give this a go. Awesome work! :)

Nexus is being a jackass again with file downloads and is having problems with downloading the new 1.2 version - will update the post when the site stops being a pain in the a**.

UPDATE: And the Nexus appears to be working again, so you can download version 1.2 of Casual Jack from there now.

lol, just the other day I realized that Jack's nipples were showing through and it never made sense for her to wear the getup if she's surrounded by teenagers and can't swear around them. But I don't mind her in that outfit during the Citadel DLC.

I think it is great that she is dressed differently in the Citadel DLC. She's going to let herself be a little more wild when she's with friends.

To my knowledge, that shouldn't be happening - the outfit should overwrite her old one. It might be possible that the game is registering her old outfit if you are loading a save directly in the map where she is located (like Orion Hall in Grissom Academy, Purgatory when she's there, etc), but that never happened in any of my tests with the mode, she was always wearing the new outfit. Try loading a save just before you meet her in Grissom (or Purgatory) and see if she's wearing the new outfit.

Or are you using the Citadel DLC? I currently do not have a mod that changes her outfit in the Citadel DLC.
