I have the pc version and I have a G15 Logitech keyboard.  For some unknown reason I cant get it to accept the spacebar hits to pick up the gun in the locker after you wake up.  I remapped the key to a different one and it still wont allow me to pick up the gun?  I have the steam version if thats needed.  I can move around just fine I just cant use the spacebar to interact or any key for that matter

I don't think it's matter of hardware because lots of people are having this issue. I believe it's the matter of game itself -- hard copy or not -- the whole interaction part anyway. Temporarily; saving the game, exiting it, and reloading works for some while trying the [esc] [esc] trick works or switching to a lower resolution (windowed mode) helps. These aren't permanent but I do hope a patch comes out to deal with this ongoing issue.

I also found hooking up a plain USB keyboard (to my laptop) made things a lot easier. None of these workarounds will work every time, but if you are willing to try, each of them will allow you in one way or another to get through the game. Personally, I plan on starting over once they figure out how to fix this issue. I'm honestly supprised this was not caught in testing.

It's been covered thoroughly already (and I've tried catching any
unanswered ones of these before.).  See this summary if you are using
standard, fully supported hardware and yet are still running into such
a problem, and bypass it by choosing a different, but not necessarily
low resolution, screen setting:

It's now a known fact that a PC well below  minimum is SUPPOSED to be unable to interact, because the video card is simply unable to do what the game's mechanics require!

The developers used a feedback mechanism as a way to communicate back and forth with the space bar and mouse pointer that fails when the frame rate is low, and the feedback isn't performed in a timely manner.  This effectively eliminates any Low End buffer zone that has allowed some gamers to ignore other games' System Requirements.

("Bump" -- you can't play the game with video that compares effictively with a Mainline Game Card the same way a Hot Wheels does to a real car.)
