It was amusing at first but it's hardly at Vanoss or Lui Caliber levels of trolling. And the ASDFs are way beyond that.
However, it is is exactly how a game of friendly-fire-Cobras with Rusty would go, yes.

You would have to make it objective based not difficulty based which would be ****** stupid either way. Some players are so good that you just cannot prevent them from soloing with difficulty, if you did make it difficult enough that some rare few couldn't solo then the difficulty would be so high that most people would quit the game from frustration.
That wouldn't be necessary, though. Just make it so you *need* more than one player to do the objective. Say, you need to upload in two different points at the same time. That way you can't solo, but with a full team it can still be as easy as you'd like to achieve it. Which, incidentally, would increase the feeling of CO-OP which this game, to be honest, desperately lacks.
Perfect case study of what happens when you don't immediately nuke Primes on sight. Those missiles are gone either way, may as well do it preemptively
I totally agree. But you have to understand, that was recorded back when this game was young, I know it's hard to understand this, but back then rage missiles were NOT a thing. That is the video that started it all. Before that, missiles were too precious to be used to rage, or even preemptive nukes. So yeah, that vid was a great milestone in the history of Geth fighting.
Now, of course, we know better, but it's easier cause we've had more time. Back then, it was hard to understand which was the right way to fight the motherfuckers.

oh it's not that fantastic. I was just looking for a specific example of rocket TKs that would be similar to friendly fire cobras.

Why are we taking about removing solos? Soloing doesn't directly encourage missile use in team games.
Soloing is one of the few things that doesn't affect fellow players in this game.
If anything, remove the scorecard and points system. That is a much bigger reason for encouraging missile spamming.
Missiles and the ability to solo are not related as far as I think, so I'm not sure why it was brought up. However, taking the ability to solo this game out would, in my opinion, greatly ecourage the CO-OP aspect of this game, which is lacking at best. Just put a separate mode for solos, with different objectives, and that's it.
Four phantoms in a group? That's a rocketin'.
Two primes walking by? That's a rocketin'.
Three primes together? You better believe that's a rocketin'.
Thanks capn233, now I can freely confess, 4 phantoms get the missile every time without exception!!!
less player DPS vs higher enemy hitpoints (how the difficulty is scaled in this game) basically accomplish the same thing. No rockets is something you can already do, unless your real problem is other people using rockets, in which case you could always find some others who share your disposition, or solo.
The Cobra absolutely can break the game if used properly by a full team, but TBH I find that to be extemely rare in pugs. They usually just toss them at lone, half dead banshees or on w11 in an attempt to "beat" my score, so it doesn't really affect my experience.
Yes, but it would be nice if I can just raise it for, say, the Gold difficulty as an example. Gold with higher dps soak enemies, higher wave budget, etc., would be very great. But I can already some of this by avoiding certain too OP setup lobbies as I and some others already do. Just would be nice if I can set it as a search option. Ditto for no missile option too. And I bet you if it were an option, most long term players would consider it the only option. And just like folks here say "lolSilver." They would also say "lolMissiles."
And yes, the Cobra missile can absolutely break the game. Why it's still such a hot debate.

Liked mostly for the teleporter trap of the last couple minutes - some friends and I once did this on an achievement server, but never in an actual game ![]()
Now I think we need an ME3/BSN TF2 clan.
Yep. Soloing is the issue. Wish it was never possible. And wish in the next ME game we can make this an option.
It's the same issue as with the missiles. You cross some line and the game isn't challenging anymore. You start playing underpowered kits with common weapons and get annoyed by stuff others do to actually make things easier, like missiles, ReegarAIUs and whatnot. Or you start competing with time instead, which might be the answer to my question above.
MY PERSONAL NUKING POLICY;

So no one has ever missed firing a rocket at a Crab and missed? They are so huge, how does a rocket go between their legs?
I saw one guy rage quit after failing to nuke a w10 crab on Ghost. He shot off a missile, it went way high and hit nothing. Second went b/w it's legs. His third did hit the target and get a killstreak but with the help of some black magic trickster sh*t, the crab still had a couple armor slots left. His fourth was about to hit but a Quarian turret took out the crab while the missile was still in flight.
THIS THREAD MUST DIE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
