Please get rid of Jaws of Hakkon splash screen

It's not a big deal, but I'd really like to see that splash screen gone.  I much prefer the originals, not to mention the fact that it's urging me to buy and download JoH when I already have it, so that's mildly off-putting.

 

Like I say, it's not a huge thing, so if it is a resources question and you have to choose between getting rid of the splash screen vs implementing a tutorial on how to click on things on the war map, then sure, do the tutorial, I  totally understand. :)

Every time I see your Icon I think of the drugged Volus in DA2 for a subtle chuckle - DAI -well ....  Yes many of us refuse to buy JoH until the game is more stable and some have given up entirely.

I was thinking of buying the DLC mostly to make the ad go away....The main menu screen is awesome. The ad, not so much. If the ad was as well done visually, that wouldn't bother me as much.

I haven't bought JoH and I don't have that splash screen? Not that I'm complaining. :P

Wait... Are you telling me that only people who have already bought JoH get a splash screen encouraging them to buy it? I just assumed the screen got rolled out to everyone automatically when JoH was released.

That is just goofy.

The ad is remote, so you need to be logged in to see it (and it's certainly not running yet for the PS4 or older consoles).

Hmm, okay I guess that's a workaround, though I'm not really keen on going offline just to avoid it.  Still, an option.

 

I wouldn't really call it an ad, though.  It completely replaces the menu background.  Calling it an ad is like calling the deathstar a small moon. ;)

EDIT:  Re-reading Rolhir's post above, I realize there is apparently an ad as well?  Guess I never saw that since I bought this pretty much the minute it was available on Origin.

You can choose how you want to refer to it, sure.

It exists only to advertise the availability of new post-release content, however.

It shows up for everyone (on PC and Xbone, at least), but you have to be online to see it.

just going by what another poster said.

I find it very mildly offputting being urged to buy something I've already bought, not to mention I like the original screen much better.  Like I said, it's not a huge deal, but if someone is ever bored up in Edmonton some morning with nothing to do, just a little option to use the original splash screen would be appreciated.

 

Option beyond "go offline" that is. It's an option, but not a preferable one at all as I shouldn't have to gimp my software.
