I really hope that the reason why they haven't released the trilogy including every DLC piece yet is because they are working on a remaster. It would make sense for marketing purposes, similar to how Naughty Dog remastered the Uncharted trilogy for fans and others wanting to pick up the series in anticipation for the next installment.

It'd be nice if they incorporated a photo mode too, or consider it for Andromeda. I feel like Inquisition should have had one, with the ability to remove the HUD in tactical mode and more control with the camera.

This is officially the one time that I will agree with something that has to do with Daniel Bryan.  :P

Put the remastered edition on to PC, too (better look real nice, too. Not just some sharpness change and that's it), and it'd be golden. I'd be all for buying it!

No matter how many HD remasters come i won't buy them. These often suffer from polishing issues and it is laughable that the original versions most of the HD remasters are still the best versions to date. Silent Hill 2 vs SH 2 HD , FFX vs. FFX HD, Resident Evil 4 gamecube vs. Resident Evil 4 HD revival anyone ?

The question is not if we will get a remastered trilogy, but when.

The bigger question is what will happen with the content of the three games, what will stay and what will change.

I am working on remastering mass effect 3, in a fanfic project,  with goal of creating a fluid stream of events from the ending of mass effect 2 and the events of what should have been if mass effect 3 was designed around giving the players proper choice and control over Shepard destiny.

Would be nice but it is late for a remaster and this gen needs more new games which are coming next year.

A remaster isn't necessary but it would be nice.

The question is not if we will get a remastered trilogy, but when.

I think when is going to be a long time away.

The Xbox One is getting backward compatibility, I'm in the preview and have played the first game and it works pretty much flawlessly.

Sony have the second game on Playstation Now. Just like the One's backward compatibility, no doubt the other games are going to hit PS Now.

The trilogy is going to be playable on the next generation consoles. EA don't have a reason at the moment to put the time and money into remastering the trilogy, not when they can make money from it without putting any new effort in themselves.

'Would you want a remastered ME trilogy?'

Yes, it would be nice but I'll settle for ME2 and ME3 being added to the Xbox One's backwards compatibility list. I don't intend on upgrading my PC to handle ME: A so I'll be going back to the consoles for ME.

What's the spec on your PC? The Unreal Engine 3 is really quite forgiving on system requirements

Sure you may have to dial down the settings but I find it hard to believe that the games would not be playable.

Or just play them on the Xbox One. I've really enjoyed playing Mass Effect again on console, I'd forgotten how much more fluid the game feels with a controller.

GeForce GTX 460 v2

Intel i5

8GB RAM

Windows 10

I guess all I need is to upgrade my GPU but I'm not really into PC gaming anymore. I only jump on the console from time to time, at least until better games come out.

According to all the information I can find the 460 would give good performance in Mass Effect 3 at 1080p, so combined with the rest of your system you'd have no problem playing the trilogy on your PC.

That's if you'd want to of course but at least you know you have to option if you ever have the urge.

With my first post I was talking about ME:A (Andromeda). I already have the current trilogy on PC and Xbox. I play it at max settings (with mods and texture upgrades) with no issues. To play ME:A at max I would need to upgrade.

I actually think the games hold up pretty well... :o ... So I don't think it's that pressing a matter, but would I like a remastered version? Sure.

Ah well that is very true. With the switch to the Frostbite engine the requirements will no doubt jump up a lot.

I'd like one, even though EA said it's not a concern at the moment I'm hoping they'll do it maybe by next year to get people excited for Andromeda and to give the opportunity for those who haven't played the trilogy to play it.

People who haven't had the opportunity to play it will be able to with the backwards compatibility the Xbox One has, and the streaming option the PS4 is going to have.  Doing a remaster would mean putting back Andromeda a year or even more.

ME2 and ME3 haven't been confirmed yet though for backwards compatibility and for me at least I'm not that impressed with the streaming options the PS4 has. Also it's not like Bioware needs to do the remaster, I can honestly see EA giving that job to another studio. Look at the Uncharted Collection, the developer Bluepoint Games did most of the work on that.

Almost no titles have been confirmed for backward compatibility but it's a safe bet that the big names are going to be on it.

I'm not sure why people are so convinced EA are going to do a remaster when they have said they have no interest in doing so. I suppose they could offload it to another studio but why would they bother when the chances are the games are going to be on the backward compatibility services at no extra cost to EA.

Would people really run out to buy a remaster of games that they can already play on their consoles. Would PC owners buy a new version of games that already have high resolution options available. Sure they'd see some sales but enough to make the money back and the healthy profit the shareholders would demand?

I don't think it would benefit me since I play on PC but I could understand why console players would want it.

They've been talking about this since 2014, the dev even said they were making it.  Hell, amazon had it up and ready to sell with a release date for dec 2014, then someone else had it up for a release date in Oct 2015.

So basically it's in "Who the hell knows" status.

EA isn't exactly the most "open" with comments regarding their games and work on them, but hopefully this will come out for the PS4 someday so I can see it with some REAL graphics ;)

(Yes, I know, then get it on PC, but I don't want it on my pc.  My PC is for non shooters rpg's....or ones that are on Steam and not Origin...  )

N7 Day.

Didn't expect any Mass Effect Trilogy Remastered news... but that doesn't mean I'm not disappointed.

I'll keep asking for it, though. I have a powerful need, and an open wallet, whenever EA bothers to commit to it and make it official.

Who wouldn't like have it all remastered? I mean, ME1 and ME2 were much pleasant for the eyes than ME#. Actually, ME3 itself needs fix.

EA has indeed said they had no interest in remasters. They tried to spin it as "remaster = lack of originality" which coming from a company loving yearly franchise is quite LOL worthy. The real reason is probably that only old exclusive games have any real succes as remasters. Sony keeps making PS3 exclusive remakes because the PS3 bombed while the PS4 soars meaning that a huge portion of PS4 owners never played those titles (Naughty Dogs said 80% of PS4 owners never played any Uncharted games for example). There is significantly less reasons to do the opposite, only ME1 lacks on the playstation platform and I wouldn't be surprised if the opposite is true there which would mean that many PS4 owners have had the opportunity to play ME1 on PC or 360 before.

This would require a lot of work for what they seem to think won't be enough sales.

As it is right now I would be very surprised if they announced a ME remaster anytime soon.

I care more about it just being able to play it on my xbox one via backwards compatibility.  As long as I can still play it I don't need an HD remake.  Besides the original graphics still look fine and they were top of the line when each respective game came out.  I am more hoping the entire trilogy will be backwards compatible.  So far I have only seen ME 1 the last time I looked at the list of games that will be playable on the xbox one.  Does anyone know if 2 and 3 have been confirmed for it?
