The textures do seem to me to be rather dark.  I tried to increase the gamma but then the contrast just looks horid.  Does anyone else have this same opinion.

I'm having the exact same problem -- Nvidia GTS 250 here. I've turned gamma all the way up but there are times when everything looks like Splinter Cell -- faces covered in thick shadows, etc. I just had a conversation with Anderson in the brightly lit Presidium and it was mega dark.

Same problem. I'm pretty convinced it's not how the game graphics are designed. Something is wrong :\\
