Okay, so i know. Dragon Age: Origins is old. But hey I still like it. I never got to run through all the different classes and story option I wanted earlier so i am thinking about revisiting the game. I would like to run through on the PC and without making an argument that mouse and keyboard are better or worse i want to run through with gamepad. I have a layout using pgp that i think will be very usable for me. I guess time will tell. The one thing that i am really missing is the targeting. there is a system to target objects you can interact with, however it doesn't target enemies, you have to click on them. I know you pause and do everything, and it is relatively fast with keyboard mouse but it would be much easier to cycle with gamepad buttons.
Anyway, i would think that i could just modify the current targeting to just included basically any object that can be interacted with (i believe this is what the consoles do). There seems to be methods i think for selecting target objects in the game files. It would be nice to not overide the default but add another command (listening for key bind) to cycle through combat targets. But i cant find any info that will help me with were to start to add keybinding and listen events for such things, but i have to believe they exists somewhere as the game itself i believe is just doing that.
I would also want to just have it modify the core so it works in origins. awakening, and other dlc campaigns.
It seems like it should be pretty possible if i could just figure out were to start. it also seems like the game has been out for a while and had it been possible there would already be a mod for it. I don't want to waste my time if it isn't possible so that is what i am asking.
Thanks, and if you have any info on places were i can find some sample code that might get me started that would be great.
