I have waited months before starting my first playthrough in hopes that they fix at least the most glaring issues. Alas, no. I have just wasted 8 hours of my time. Well done, Bioware!

I did everything according to guides, made my world state in the Keep, clicked on export into DAI, checked in DAI if it has the correct time stamp, yet at least a few of the choices don't match. Wrong dwarf on the throne, wrong Hawk sibling survived etc.

So what now? What am i to do? Anyone else having similar issues?

(playing on xbox one btw)

Too bad :(

I've started five playthroughs on X1, and every time my world states have imported correctly.

That's very strange. I've never had an import problem. Did you upload your save? Do your choices match a different continuity?

Sounds like the default world state.

I did upload my saves but it doesn't really do much. Whether you upload or not, you have to make the choices manually.

Don't get your second question.

Should have checked worldstate of my current DAI playthrough in the Keep before starting playing. That way you can see if DAI has correctly imported your choices. I started a new game again, did the exact same thing as before but this time it seems to have imported my choices, at least according to the Keep. Kinda don't feel like beating that boss on nightmare again, though...

Ah, I see the confusion, but you got to it eventually.

What I meant to ask was (1) did you upload the worldstate to DA:I through the Keep and (2) is it the case that your DA:I choices actually reflect a different keep worldstate?

But you figured it out.

Usually a good idea to have a quick chat with Varric and the Requisition Officer early in Haven to validate from their dialogue that all is well.

Then at worst you are only endangering an hour or so if the import was not successful for whatever reason.

If you go to the keep in the character creator and choose current playthrough it shows you the worldstate that you've picked. Which saves you all that time before talking to varric.

Like the OP, I verified the time / date stamp.  All of my choices imported correctly into DAI except for one very important one:  Hero of Ferelden.  In the Keep I specified my HOF was a Female Elf Mage.  In my game, my HOF was apparently a Male Dwarf Noble.  You won't find out this information until you get to Redcliffe and get the Codex entry for the HOF.  At that point, I was not willing to start over again (about 12 hours in, IIRC) and just accepted that the Keep screwed up.  However, I won't be completing the 'Contact HOF' War Table mission since it is not my HOF.  At least my Hawke was correct (Female Rogue).

Maybe you were drunk when you tried to import your world state.

I keep having this issue on xbox one also. I've tried importing it 5 times, having the lock on and off in dragonagekeep, the timestamps match, and every time, the import heroes don't match my tapestry for DAO or DA2. It's always the same two defaults. It's beyond annoying.

Request for clarification: You mean if I Alt-Tab out of the game while still in the character creator and go to the Keep in my web browser ('cause I'm playing on PC, natch), the playthrough state will be in the Keep already? 'Cause damn, that's quick.

Yeah, if you're connected to the internet as soon as you chosen the starting parameters it pops up

Okay here's what I learned and for me it worked. DO NOT edit the Default World State in the Keep. Create your own. After you set it up how you like, import it to the game at the Keep. Start a new game (it will not carry over to one in use) and the minute you get to Haven, talk to Harritt and Threnn. How they respond will tell you if you have the right World State, and you get a codex too from both of them. Read them and if it's not correct with what you chose, starting over won't be as painful.
