I completed the loyalty mission for Grunt by killing the thresher maw.. not sure if that did something but i cannot unlock his fortification power... mod help plz

I had this happen too. Everything else unlocked without issue (Achievements, Armor, status screen, little red circle under their feet on squad select) but the Fortification ability remains locked and says the Grunt is not Loyal. I also killed the Thresher Maw instead of just waiting it out.

Ditto. Mission Results screen said the ability was unlocked, but im unable to put any points into the skill. I hope this can be fixed in a quick patch we can see soon.

It'd be nice if a mod or dev said something. I have a feeling this keeps getting pushed down the list b/c of all the people crying about their dlc starting new threads instead of just feeding off of one big 'DLC problems' thread.



But please BioWare...Fix Grunt. Hell...I can't even take that as an extra ability b/c it's "locked".



If you need proof that this is happening I can take a Screen of Grunt, wearing the black & orange armor, while it still says he's 'not loyal'.

Yeah, some problem for me. I like grunt. I didn't kill the thresher maw, but I completed the quest and it says he's loyal in the Team Status (or whatever it's called) on my terminal and I can put on his black outfit, but I can't put any points into fortification because the skills screen says he isn't loyal.

I have this exact same problem, it says he is loyal but I cant get his power

I had this happen to me as well first time I played through. I think I figured out the issue.

On Tuchanka, there is a guy who owns a shop and asks you to kill some pyjaks. If you do the quest after Grunt's loyalty mission, when you go to talk to him he won't confirm anything. This prompted me to back out and try again, and he then gave me a store discount as promised. Right then, Grunt's Fortification was greyed out again. I have tested this a few times, and every test returned this as the cause. BioWare needs to fix this, Grunt's Fortification is too useful to not have.

Also, to clarify, if you do the quest before doing Grunt's loyalty mission (even with Grunt in the party), the merchant will acknowledge your completion the first time instead of making you back out, and Grunt does not lose the ability to gain Fortification later on.

I'm having the same issue, In the team selection screen it says that he's loyal and change is outfit thats fine. I can't access his fortification power it says "its locked teammate not loyal" or something like that. Any news on a fix for this?

Having the same issues here... figured I'd jump onto this forum to see if others were too, and WHOA! Looks like a bug that needs patched!

this is a bad glitch i have seen it happen once on my first play through but the next it did not happen

Has Bioware publicly acknowledged this glitch or is it still under the radar.
