It happened to me on the console version, does it affect both PC and consoles? It's very frustrating because I saved up his squad points to max it out as soon as he gained the power... Now I'm stuck with 10 squad points that I would really like to use on the power I wanted.
Grunt not loyal after completing loyalty mission?

I encountered the same problem except with Samara. The sound also didn't work during the cut scene while Samara and her daughter were fighting.

Same here, Grunt is not loyal and the Samara Cutscene is without sound, wich ist pretty bad!

Did happen to me but only on my import me1 charactor but on the others i made not importing me1 data he unlock it might be me1 data seems to interfere but i just finish it with the bug and he lived.

Yeah this is a bit ridiculous. I'm having the same damn problem.

well i restartted the entire game and its unlocked now but also instead of talking the the krogen shop keep after the loyalty mission i didi before i don't know if that helped or not

i had no problem with grunt's loyalty, and i see him use it all the time while fighting with him. I never lost his loyalty or lost his power up

Just did Grunt's loyalty quest. Also got the alternate skin and loyalty status, but no fortification. Funny thing is I beat the game yesterday and didn't have this problem, and today I finally got around to getting the DLC. Which required the title update ... been having problems ever since that update.

same thing happened to me on Xbox 360 version seems to affect both console and PC i talked to the shop guy before the mission then did the mission killing thresher maw and then shot the monkeys did mordins loyalty mission and left and mordins ability works but grunts doesn't fix this please grunt my favorite character so far and hes always in my party

Got this problem too. Just have to wait for a patch I suppose and I'll stick with Samara and Garrus.
Such a shame, Grunt is really handy in a fight.

Having the same issue, on the xb360. Also had the bug during the Samara loyalty mission with missing audio in the final cutscene.

I'm having a similar problem with Legion. I have his extra ability unlocked, his extra 'outfit' unlocked, but there is no red circle, nor does he (it?) show a Loyal status, just 'Normal'.

Its simple you made a decision in on the mission that made him mad which is why you didint get his loyalty. Similar thing happens on Talis loyalty mission.

i had this problem too.
fortunately i had a saved game before the mission, and when i did it again i had some spare points that i quickly put into Fortification as soon as the mission was complete. i also made sure to stay clear of the merchant until Grunt was out of my group. that seemed to sort the problem out.
