I also have this problem. I refuse to start over. It's my first playthrough and I've put a lot of hours into this game. I'm so close to the end and have gone up many levels since then. Please patch this. This is not a problem that is confined to this forum alone. Many people on major forums such as Gamespot, Game FAQs and IGN are complaining about this problem.

This happened to me too. I don't know why it tells me that grunt is loyalty and yet I can't use his powers. This really sucks!!!!

Yep. I've got Grunt's loyalty, but his power is still locked. Hope this is fixed soon.

On the first time through I did Mordin Solus' loyalty quest first and Grunt didn't unlock. My second time through I did Grunt's first and his power unlocked.

Yep same thing. Mordin's unlocked, Grunt's didn't - though everything else for him did, and it says Loyal on party sheet. Ho hum.

I think theres quite a few in-game glitches bioware has yet to acknowledge. I hope we get a title update soon. <_<

It seems that this is happening more often on the console version. In what editions of the PC version have this bug been occurring? It will help BioWare isolate the issue if players stated the game version and at what stage in the game the bug was found. Did you complete the character's personal mission early in the game or leave it for much later? Did you go through each available "investigate" option, or did you skip over a lot of the dialog?



I have the CE retail box. Thankfully, I haven't encountered any serious bugs except for some mutated animations (like arms bending backwards) and collision errors (like getting stuck in the air or on obstacles after using Charge).

Had this as well (PC version). Spoke with another friend who has it as well (Again PC). His loyalty run didn't unlock Grunt's power. He reloaded the and played again and it did unlock the second time. Seems to be an intermittent issue.

I also had the bugged interaction with the shopkeeper for killing the pyjaks *after* killing the thresher maw. Will have to try Grunt's loyalty mission talking to the shopkeeper beforehand.

Just because you lkilled the thresher maw you do not get loyalty of grunt. You have to talk to shaman and wrex or another leader of clan Urdnot to complete grunts loyalty mission.

360, played fairly early, survived maw but didn't kill, probably did pyjak mission first. finished the whole game, still greyed.

Same problem here (XBox 360). I'm over 35 hours in and don't want to start over, so I hope BioWare releases a patch that not only prevents the problem but fixes it for those of us already having it. I wrote EA about this and received the following response. Bottom line is, if you have the problem, post here or write EA support so they get enough people wanting a fix.

Same here, second playthrough, on insanity. I didn't discover it until now, and I did grunts loyalty mission like 20 saves ago...

Same problem. I had Grunt's loyalty, put points into it, then did Mordin's mission. After doing Mordin's mission, I accidentally did the pyjack shooting game again, but I already had the discount. It disappeared and I got the points back. I think this glitch is related to shoot pyjacks minigame, not something else. Anyone willing to test this who has the ability unlocked?

 I have the same issue. I can change his costume but I can't add points to his special power. The message for me is that he is not loyal.

Please fix this glitch Bioware, Grunt needs that ability when he's bumping heads with enemy forces.

I did all that.  Still not loyal (360 version)
