UPDATE 4/25/15:  I've released version 1.1 updates for both the Miranda Horizon Armor mod and the Miranda Arena Armor mod - these updated versions now make the mods completely compatible with Texplorer and allow the mods to be safely scanned and added to Texplorer's texture database :) Additionally, the 1.1 release of Miranda Arena Armor mod fixes a minor incompatibility issue between it and my "Stimulant Pack - True Bonus Power" mod - if you are using the additional Arena Armor mod, I HIGHLY RECOMMEND updating to the mod's new version 1.1.

About the Mod
If you're like me, you probably wondered this during the first time you played through the Priority: Horizon mission in ME3:
"Why the hell is Miranda not wearing any combat armor?"

It seems like a pretty obvious thing for her to do, considering she's going on a solo-mission into a Cerberus facility (armed with Cerberus soldiers) to rescue her sister. Would any character in Mass Effect, especially one as intelligent as Miranda, knowingly go into such a situation without wearing the proper gear for it?  :? The answer is "No, they wouldn't... they would wear their fricken' armor if they knew they were going into a probable combat situation".  <_<

Thankfully, ME2 once again provides a solution to this issue... in the form of Miranda's Alternate Appearance Pack battle-armor.  ;)

Required Files/Programs
This mod does require WarrantyVoider's DLC Patch files to be downloaded and installed in the "Mass Effect 3\Binaries\Win32" folder: http://www.mediafire...sr9/binkw32.rar

Download Link
Available on the NexusMods website: http://www.nexusmods...ect3/mods/341/?

Install Instructions
Just drag and drop the "DLC_CON_MiriArmor" folder into your Mass Effect 3 DLC folder (Mass Effect 3\BIOGame\DLC). :)

Q&A
1. Really? I just drag and drop this into the game's DLC folder?
Yep. :)

2. No, seriously, I don't have to fiddle with Texmod and TPF files or try and and play around with Texplorer in ME3Explorer to replace textures?
Not at all :) This mod is using a new method of integrating custom textures into DLC-type mods without the need for Texmod or permanent texture replacement - all the new textures required for the character's new outfit are stored directly in the mod's DLC folder.

3. What if I don't like the mod, how do I get rid of it?
You just delete it from your game's DLC folder.

4. And it doesn't affect anything in the base game or the other DLCs?
Nope, the mod is entirely self-contained.

5. ... Really?
Really :)

Mod Compatibility
As of version 1.1, both the Miranda Horizon Armor and Miranda Arena Armor mods are now completely compatible with Texplorer and can be safely scanned and included in Texplorer's texture database. :)

Additional Information
Note: There is a single scene in Horizon where Miranda will not be wearing her new armor - it's the scene that plays on the monitor for Shepard of Miranda being attacked by Kai Leng (just after the monitor scene of Henry Lawson talking to the Illusive Man). The reason why this mod doesn't work on that video is because it's a rendered .bik video file that isn't influenced by model/texture changes, so that video unfortunately can't be changed.

ADDITIONAL MOD: Miranda: Arena Armor version
This is an additional mod for the Citadel DLC, which gives Miranda her black battle-armor for the Armax Arsenal Arena - just like the Horizon Armor mod, just drag and drop the "DLC_CON_MiriArmorCit" folder into the ME3 DLC folder to install.

As an additional note: in the near future, I will be looking into giving Miranda this exact same armor for the Armax Arsenal Arena in the Citadel DLC.  ;)

I wonder if other mods can be made to just drop into a folder? No more Explorer/textmod hoops?!

Bless you.

From the research that us ME3 modders have been making over the past few months with making mods as DLC (along with the new method that I've discovered for adding custom textures into a DLC-type mod), that is now becoming a very definite outlook for future mods.  :)

I'll echo that statement. We still have to confirm things on more machines but as of now, multiple machines with at least 3 users are able to use these new methods.

Now, there still will be a need for texplorer/tpf files because of the insane amount of files that can be changed. For example, this last hurrah for CEM will use this new method, and it adds 303MB to the installer for 12 textures. The textures themselves in a tpf file are only 485KB.

Some more cool news, folks - using my same methods, I was able to replace Miranda's uniform with her black battle-armor for the Armax Arsenal Arena portion of the Citadel DLC (which only affects her outfit in the Arena, for the rest of the Citadel DLC she wears her regular uniform).  :)

I'll put the files up for this add-on tomorrow, will post the link when it's available online.

Thanks a lot for this one !

Also, how would I go about finding the textures for the armour so I can have a go at HD-ing them ?

Would it be possible to have Miranda's loyalty outfit, the black one, from ME2 appear on her in ME3 instead of the default suit? That alternate armor is just perfect for the Horizon part and Arena.

To my knowledge, there has been no high-res textures made of Miranda's ME2 AAP.

Also, I do NOT recommend scanning and/or replacing any textures of this mod with Texplorer - this mod is not intended for that (and may cause problems if you attempt to scan and add new textures), it was designed specifically so it wouldn't require Texplorer to view specific custom textures in a mod. Using Texmod in conjunction with this mod is perfectly fine, however, just as long as the TPF you're using does not replace the character's new outfit textures.

Jeanluc did one back in the ME2 days, had to scour my backup HDD but I found it,

so I should just be able to find the texmod ID's in log mode, check the file types then recompile a new tpf ? (I have enough trouble with texplorer already, so I won't be touching that.

Update -  the "Miranda: Arena Armor" version of the mod, which gives Miranda her battle-armor for the Armax Arsenal Arena in the Citadel DLC, is now available online.

This is .. .Amazing! ... Just ... Wow!.

Creating user DLC's could very well revolutionize ME Modding! I hope you have a large inbox quota, because I foresee a LOT of requests coming from this :)

Does she still use her casual outfit in the meetups on the citadel and in the citadel dlc party?

By the way, it also work with Getorex' alternate appearance mod for Miranda. Just make sure to de-select all the DLC_CON_Miri_Armor files when installing Geto's mod. That way, she will wear the new uniform on the Citadel and the armor during the Sanctuary mission. :)

Alternatively, install Geto's mod before the Miri Armor mod and you will be good as well.

Incidentally, I'm eventually going to make a DLC-mod version of Getorex's Alt-Appearance Miranda mod (I was the one who made the textures for that mod) and make it a lower DLC mount priority than my Miranda Armor mods, so that they would all be compatible and you could still see Miranda in her armor for Horizon/Armax Arena, but she would be wearing the Alt-Appearance outfit for the rest of the game.

I see.  Does it properly reflect her battle damage if it's the version where she dies?  (I believe she had bruises if she's in a "i won't survive this" state)

Big thank you for this :)!   I was asking to make a texmod file for same purpose but thanks for making this :)!
