Just being a member of the IRA was enough to get you arrested in the UK.

Well, that's your problem then. This isn't the UK now is it. The old empire's really lost its luster, hasn't it?

I love how you go ahead and make a jibe towards me too. Really, do I ****** you off that much?

The plot demanded that nothing happens to the Normandy and squad when docked at the Citadel

It's even worse if you bring Legion to the Citadel. You'd think someone who survived the battle in ME1 would recognize a geth when they see one.

They excuse it because Legion can breakdance. That makes everything better.

I did that one time and laughed when Anderson called it a trophy bot

What had the British empire got to do with it? Northern Ireland is a constituent part of the United Kingdom and thus the IRA were a terrorist organisation within it. That is why they were arrested on account of them being terrorists.
I was drawing a parralllel between that and cerberus within alliance / galatic space.

It wasn't a personal attack; we have just had this argument ad naseum and didn't want to be sidetracked.
I have no problem with you (although I disagree with your opinion of cerberus obviously ) I generally find your posts quite interesting and erudite even if I do not always agree - but that is perfectly acceptable stance to take.

Plus you've been to the UK so you get extra credit there :P

As much as I like ME2, I would've liked it more if you started out with the Geth/Legion being the ones who revived you... Legion's motivations for teaming up would be the same, but it'd start from the beginning. And there'd always be this lingering concern over your head on what the Geth did to keep you alive. Are you even human anymore? I remember Drew tossing around ideas at the time about Shepard possibly being a cyborg. This would fit into it.

While Miranda and TIM would've been more like they appeared in the trailer --- as curious outside observers. Perhaps Miranda would come in your group under false pretenses. ala Maya Brooks. Then maybe later, it comes out in the open, and you have to a choice to work with Cerberus.. Since the Alliance isn't helping with Collectors. It wouldn't be so public, like it is in the current game though.

But this is neither here or there. ME2 is what it is. I still like it because it's the most character oriented game.

Given our history on here, you'll forgive me if I'm rather terse towards you, as well as myself having grown accustomed to distrust and/or dislike from you. As I said, forgive me for assuming that this is the general norm her. My apologies.

Life is too short to have feuds on an Internet message board about a computer game.

I wouldn't say it's a feud so much as a relative and somewhat mutual dislike.

Eh. I don't 'dislike' you, nor anyone on this board. Unless they are overly homophobic/ racist / sexist.

Differences of opinion are fine, you can't agree on everything.

Cerberus, at most, has a dozen or so ships. That's not really a lot.

I'm not talking here fighters and shuttles.

Count them in the cinematics and game. There's 1 at Omega, 1 that Aria stole, 1 that is attacking the Biotic facility, 3 on Tuchanka and about 5-6 defending the Cerberus HQ.

As to how Cerberus got 12 cruisers. Well they did afford building the Normandy and that's a very advanced ship and also bringing Shepard from the dead. Keep in mind they had a Shipyard in ME2.

Building a number of cruisers in a year and/or salvaging derelict ships is very doable. Keep in mind that in the Terminus they have an entire junkyard of old military ships: The bloody quarians got their hands on DREADNOUGHT guns from that place.

It took them two years to build a frigate

...3 on Tuchanka...

Where have you seen 3 on Tuchanka? I thought there was only one.

It was only one and it got destroyed. Of course the player has the choice of doing that side mission or not

It would seem that the main constraint to constructing warships is politics (which Cerberus doesn't care about obviously). Not necessarily resources. I guess.

The Volus only have one, right? But they're rich as hell.

The Volus have a bombing fleet that Shepard can have depending on the outcome when dealing with Korlack

The volus also contributed their bombing fleet, the dreadnought Kwunu, fabrication units, and an engineering team to the Allied war effort.

Oh, I was only thinking of the Kwunu.... don't know why I forgot about the whole bombing fleet.

Jacob points out that the Normandy was no longer cutting edge.

Besides which cruisers are still pretty freaking big.  It's not like you slap them together out of legos.

Why would my femshep listen to that clown? Isn't he the one that told Shepard its up to her to stop the reapers?

In fairness, the way the ME3 plot was written it should have been an RTS. It's no different than "It's up to the Grey Warden to stop the blight." or "It's up to the Herald of Andraste to stop Corypheus."

Even what you did with the Rachni will have a profound impact on the final battle.

The lines telling Shepard it's up to her to stop the reapers is as ridiculous as all of the hype leading up to the release of the game. Otherwise we should have had this line:

"I am The Shepard. Bow before me!"

All those Legion easter eggs not available to console players without severe metagaming.
