ME1: Adepts rule. Only reason to take anyone with engineering skills is to open chests.
ME2: you pretty much have to take Engineers/Sentinels
ME3: loldoesntmatteranymoreboomboomboomcombohahayoudead.
ME:1 Or if you actually want to make the game interesting
. Dealing with immunity spam, bullet sponge enemies becomes a game of cat and mouse when you run an all tech/combat team and only have Damping and shooting things quickly as your CC. Press Liara to lift is just not nearly as fun
ME2: Not really, though it is probably advised for biotic Shepards. Your only weakness is shields, which SMGs, Shotguns, the Viper and the lolMattock will wreck plenty fast.
ME3: yeah, and you don't really need that even. You can get away with some absurdly bad setups, like pure melee characters even in the toughest fights in the game.
Infiltrator>all
Maybe if you're a sissy who needs to hide like a COWARD!
(don't ask me, ask ME2 krogan enemies).
But yeah, you're pretty much right. I like Soldier but Winfiltrator is basically a better soldier with free tech abilities in every game that's not ME2. Or it's a better Engineer with basically the same abilities but a lot more firepower. Vanguard is the only class that has been more absurdly stronk over the balance of the 3 games.
