Why should we not be allowed to be transphobic?

We can be an evil murderer, but being a racist or transphobe is going too far?

Even the SJWs of this thread will regret the day they advocated for absolute political correctness and social justice. When you're thrown into a gulag for the rest of your life for offending someone you'll truly miss when free speech, all speech, was something you had but chose to forsake.

It's not that people aren't allowed. It just that hate mongering leads to a brick to the face of the hate monger.

That and people who waste time hating other people for who that are are crappy people.(And the rules of the forum state not to slander any sex, gender, race, or religion.)

You go ahead and hate speech all you want...I'll just get my bricks out.

Added, you clearly don't know what pushing political correctness and social justice is. Hell, you don't even know what free speech is and the that law does not apply to a site controlled by a company in a different country of that law.

The thing is, Handsome Jack, most people would agree with the new stance BioWare is making and I can see why they're making that stance. It's time people accept that minorities aren't THAT bad. Just my two cents.

People complained for different reasons. My complaint with it is that it's a silly set up for a lecture that relies on IRL social navigating in that particular setting just to get right. Some people argued that asking in itself was wrong and ignorant. However, There is a right way to ask Krem, so asking isn't even the problem.

And I personally find it silly to view asking a question as ignorant, you learn by asking those with experience. That's how you gain an understanding of that person. But if all you're going to do is bark at anyone for daring to not have prior knowledge of the exact right way to ask you, then you're just going to push them away and ruin any chances of that person getting to know your experience.

Now if the game allowed the IQ to be out right transphobic, then yeah, get'em IB. But that wasn't the case here.

Get over it?

What counts as "correct" navigation to dialogue?

You asked a question that was available and you got a reply. All paths are correct since there is no game over.

That IB reacts to certain questions negatively doesn't make them wrong questions. Theyre stupid and IB points that out, but they're not wrong.

It seems you want a way to ask those questions while having everyone be happy about it.

Its obvious that Bioware has positive bias towards transgender issues. This is a very sensitive topic IRL at the moment and it has to be done this way. People asking for outright transphobic options are beyond ignorant to the realities of depictions of underprivileged minorities in media. We're not talking about elves here. They are real people.

If you need a video game to tell you that asking a transgender person why they're pretending to be something they're not is a big Nono, then you got bigger **** to worry about, like getting an education regarding trans issues which is exactly what BioWare was intending should you select those dialogue options.

Can't believe people making a fuss over this. Grow up.

We can't criticize or question transsexuals because we'll hurt their feelings, but you tell us to grow up?

Says the guy who is pulling a tantrum because a video game character yelled at them and hurt their feelings?

You don't criticize or question transgender people because it's not your place. Feel free to have an opinion about it though, not like it matters.

I mean really? Bringing Marxism into this? Comedy gold. Hahahaha

My favorite made-up nonsensical term of the 21st Century is definitely "cultural Marxism."

It's a well-defined and established term, and the explicit goal of many Liberal political theorists. Form a culture of imaginary oppression and victimization in order to bring about a revolt for the people, leading to political correctness and the abdication of free speech. As with all forms of Marxism, a small elite wins and we all lose. This is the entire basis of the modern feminist movement, as well as higher-up Liberal ideology. It is also the foundation of the Social Justice Movement. More recently Cultural Marxism has been targeted primarily at heterosexual Caucasian men and, to some extent, women, who are portrayed falsely as "oppressors", "bigots", "the patriarchy", "rape/racist culture", etc. Pick your term for it, it's imaginary victimization and it fuels Cultural Marxism.

Study deeper into Liberal thought sometime, it's far from nonsense. It's much scarier than nonsense.

...A video game character yelled at me? What?

It is my place. It's every human's place to say what they choose to. Life is a ******, and people even more-so. Humans are naturally assholes to someone or something. Transsexuals, races, genders, etc. should not be immune to the **** everyone goes through. Transsexuals are not special, blacks are not special, whites are not special, gays are not special, straights are not special, so on and so on. SJWs, especially the self-victimizing ones need to get over themselves. Free speech covers all speech. I will insult and deride at worst, question at best transsexuals or anyone else I choose to, just as they can do to me, and just as they do to others, and just as everyone does from time to time.

Bioware including a transsexual character is questionable given the setting, but I could ignore it. However, they shove it in your face and force every character to greatly respect Krem or suffer derision and outcasting otherwise. That's where the problem is.

Every human can be equally horrible. Being transsexual does not make you a person worthy of respect nor unworthy. It's your actions, yet Bioware puts the transsexual on a pedestal solely to pander to the SJW ideology, which sees minorities as incapable of wrong and the perceived majority(ies) as universally evil.

Since we are talking about a transgender character, may I add this excerpt about Maevaris from The World of Thedas vol. 2?

Spoiler

Basically she is pretty awesome.

Pitiful argument? Really? If a straight character came around and forcefully announced he was straight to you every few seconds you wouldn't be annoyed?

Sure, but free speech won't stop moderator action on a private forum if you cross into insults. And if you're foolish enough to throw insults at people in person, don't be surprised if you get a punch to the face or a swift kick to the groin. What you choose to do and say has consequences.

Can someone point out the times any gay or trans character did this in a bw game?

That would of helped the first time I was at the pearl.(Not like it made a difference I was playing a female bisexual.)

I fear it´s not even it´s final form. (wow. The first possibility to use a Dragon Ball Z reference.)

Yeah, I can see what you're Saiyan...

I'm not going to even touch the transgender things. However, Handsome Jacks words about politics is mostly accurate..when you look deeper into to subject, it does get scary.
