Do you think Bioware is "dragging along" Flemeth too much?

In DA:O it was great, got to fight her and was an interesting character which I expected more of in DA2. Disapointingly, we literally only got to see her for 5 minutes and that was it as barely anything noteworthy happened. Then in DA:I, it's more of the same thing: A few interesting bits and pieces but nothing major.

Bioware is obviously setting something up with Flemeth, but I'm worried that it's going to "drag along" for too long and fans will get annoyed. I don't want to see another 10 minute Flemeth part in the next (hopefully) three games and in the series conclusion, have it unravel.

Do you agree/disagree? How are you hoping Bioware handles Flemeth?

Well since I'm fairly certain she's dead I hope that Bioware doesn't turn her into a shambling corpse? Also don't you consider her being Mythal to be rather major?

I disagree, OP: her appearances in DA2 and DAI may be short, but they have certainly been interesting, especially her role in the endgame of DAI and what may come next.

That's my point. "What may come next" I feel like they're dragging her along. :/

Nope. In Act 3 of DA2 Merrill introduced Mythal when I passed by the altar where Flemeth was summoned. And now I realise that it was a hint. So excited!

Instead, I think Sandal is "dragged along" too much. Just a joke. Don't take that serious

I disagree. She was an extremely mysterious and cool character that I loved seeing in each game. As others have pointed out though, it looks like she's dead, so her character/appearance likely won't reappear.

Flemeth story doesn't interest me anymore so I'm glad they killed her. They kept giving her small and vague cameo's so it's for the best.

The major reveal about Flemeth was her housing Mythal's spirit.  So If Solas took that then she's dead and gone.

I liked Flemeth, but found her more interesting without the Mythal reveal, just as I found Solas more interesting before the post-credits bombshell. Still, it's regrettable that she's likely gone for good now ... especially since that can only mean yet more in-your-face unavoidable Morrigan-w*nk in future games.

After the DAI epilogue, I don't really expect to see her again. It's kind of a shame, really. She's an interesting character.

I'm hoping that they've also said goodbye to Leliana and Morrigan. I really have had enough of those two.

She's literally in pieces now, so I doubt there is going to be much "dragging around". Wheelbarrows have been invested in Thedas already haven't they? If plot demands it, I'm sure she, or whatever is left of her, and be more easily pushed around now.

I agree with the OP.

I would like to see more of Flemeth, but only if she's going to be more important to the storyline.

People need to remember, DA:I did not make her Mythal, it made her Mythal's carrier. She's basically just an old powerful mage who is infected with a magical parasite. Nothing interesting there.

Personally, I was hoping they were going to make Flemeth The Formless One, and tied her involvement with the Hero and Champion in to their respective ties to Gaxkang and Xebenkeck. Then have Imshael rejoin the others and have them being the true puppet masters behind the scenes. But no.

Anyway, the plot element that she can make clones of herself and send them to get things done for the main body, I think that's interesting. But this was revealed in DA2, or possibly DA:WH if you read between the lines. Basically, DA:I just shows you who Flemeth works for, and I think that diminished her character.

As for the ending, I think that was just a clone of hers. She was transferring that piece of her back through the eluvian to meet back up with the main host body.

It also appears that Mythal's spirit floated from the Well of Sorrows and then through the eluvian.

So we will see what Mythal's reckoning is, and we will see if Flemeth makes use of the well's compulsion, if it is still placed over the one who drank from the well.

Solas already did the handling for them.

Flemeth's story is over. She was sending her "godhood" to Morrigan through the Eluvian as we know from the dev notes. If anything, Morrigan is going to become the new wild-card superwoman that Flemeth previously was.

There is this convention in western cRPGs that the current game cannot resolve the major issues plaguing the setting in one go. This is usually because sequels don't work if all the major dillemas are solved.

So what RPGs do is essentially have a "world" plot and a parallel "game" plot. You always solve the game plot (beat the AD, stop the blight, defeat corypheus) while each game slowly develops the "world" plot.

Flemeth is part of the world plot. Bioware presumably could have made a game that exclusively centered around her. But then she's not a mysterious NPC character that's a figure of legend influencing the plot behind the scenes. She's just the main plot.

What I'd like to know is what this "godhood" is?  I mean, Solas apparently took Mythal from Flemeth, so what more does Flemeth have to give (assuming she does not have the OG soul)?

It's power clearly.

Looking forward to seeing what comes next for her after she tricked Solas in the end. I don't think they are dragging it out too much. Just enough mystery.

Yes, she survived.

I'm just quietly waiting untill BW reveals that Flemeth was Andraste all along.

And then I'll run around BSN screaming "I TOLD YOU SO!"

On a more serious note: I just want the whole plot around her to be sooollvveedd so that we can move oooonnnn D:

But power from what?  Flemeth isn't a god herself.  Maybe a powerful mage but not a "god."  Oh well, I guess we'll find out since Morrigan will become Flemeth 2.0.

Well, not Flemeth herself, but I'd say it's all but confirmed that Andraste was inhabited by Mythal at the time, what with Solas = Shartan being so obvious.

Eh, sorta kinda means Flemeth was Andraste, if not for the fact that the Flemeth that we know is Mythal merged with original Flemeth :P

I don't think Solas took anything from Flemeth. The energy leaving Flemeth's body went through the eluvian, not to Solas.

(to Dai Grepher) There was a very visual effect drawing from Flemeth and into Solas. I'm not sure how to describe it, like smoke perhaps? He took something from her.
