I miss playing the high fantasy games from back in the day. A next gen version of any of the forgotten realms stories would be amazing...at least I think so. Never Winter Nights or Baulder's Gate would be amazing epic in a dragon age fashion. Drow, orcs, wizards, minotaurs...stuff fantasy games have been missing for a while.

I think Dragon Age series and World of Warcraft have killed the forgotten realms and there won't be any SP game in this universe... ![]()

Nwn is defo my all time favourite game. I'm afraid though if they would remake it, they would simplify it way too much like they do with all games nowaday (E.g. classes nowadays are mage, rogue, warrior and the other 20 classes don't seem to matrter anymore). Maybe it's better to let it be in its glory days than revive it and screw it up?

It looks great too:

NWN without modding is pointless.

Eh, it was OK. I'd say Mask of the Betrayer would be a better argument, but I still think NWN got it's value from fan mods

NWN was the best game ever made in my opinion.
Included campaign was iffy but expansion was good.
As you mention the toolset was tremendous, showed just how much talent is out in the world re making short modules.
Persistent worlds were very well done in many case and provided a lot of good MP play, even better ones that had good DM's.
As a total package it was 2nd to none.

As Eternal Phoenix mentioned, Sword Coast Legends may be what you are looking for.
I started a thread in my signature below, if you'd care to read more.

Bioware could revamp the whole genre. Like taking Ice Wind Dale, and making it a rpg. frost giants, ors, dark elves....such epicness could be had

5th edition rules. Extremely dumbed down stuff. + Very few classes and races from the get go. Be prepared for loads of microtransactions.
