I am rather confused by them because they are technically corpses brought to life by Spirit of Faith right? So is their 'original' soul still present?

So technically, mages can bring back corpses to life by binding spirits to them but why some of them are just walking corpses (e.g. necromancer specializations) but some (e.g. like Wynne and Evangeline) have mind of their own?

So does that only meant that Evangeline will never age / die as long as the Faith don't leave her body because her body is dead? And she will never be killed as long as Faith resurrect her again and again? This is because Wynne mentioned she was slain in the Tower but brought back to life by Faith so if one day, someone defeated Evangeline and 'killed' her again, i imagine she would just wake up with scars and such but not dead.

PS: She would make an ideal companion in future games since she cannot die.

And does that meant if Wynne was 'killed' by the Warden, she was brought to life again and so there is no forced canon anywhere in Asunder? But how does one kill an Abomination if the spirits can bring the host back to life with still a mind of mostly their own (e.g. Anders)?

Also, a spirit can process non-mages too right (like seekers and Evangeline) so why are the mages getting the burnt for it only?

Well, as for this last, it's because corrupted spirits (Demons) are much more attracted to possessing Mages than non-Mages, either because of their power itself or because of their connection to the fade, and that terrifies people.

I assume that's because the walking corpses' souls have already... moved on? Whereas Wynne and Evangeline might have just been dead for a few seconds (like how people can be considered clinically dead on an operating table but still be revived).

I'm sure you could ask Wynne something about this in DAO, and she said that the spirit was getting weaker. So I imagine that she could be constantly revived, until it completely runs out of power (and dies itself?). That assumes that the person would want to live forever though. Wynne was quite content to die eventually. I'm not sure how it would work for Evangeline, whether the spirit would be rejuvenated now it's inside someone else.

Mages have a connection to the Fade, and can interact with it in a way non-mages can't. Since non-mages only visit it in dreams, spirits/demons barely notice them, whereas they are drawn to mages entering the Fade. I imagine mages also make more powerful abombinations, since they already possess magic (especially ones like Feynriel, since he's also a Dreamer).
