Which origin do you think is least and most worthy of being recruited as a grey warden?

Sorry about the chemo, Syl. I hope you feel better soon to geek around with us more :-)

As for the pc, I'm glad I don't have to share mine with anyone as my partner and my son have their own. If anything, I'm the one who gets the boot from my son's ps4, as I reaaaally hate the pc control on DAI. It just makes it a lot playable for me to play it on console. IF and when the game becomes moddable tho, I'm back.on my turf!

Because I have limited hard drive space and already have several games on it, WoW, SWTOR, Sims 2, 3 and 4.  I don't play all those but as my PC is the "family" computer, I have to maintain them.  Believe me, removing Guild Wars was like pulling teeth without novacaine but I finally got my youngest to agree it had been forever since he played.  I was pretty "Origins played out" by the time Inquisition was released.  DA2 has also gone bye bye as well.  I tend to look forward in episodic stuff like this, but both are still on my Origin account if i ever get a bigger/better HD for my PC and decide I want to play again.

I have been getting chemo since February and haven't the energy to game, just troll the forums so I can't even play the games I do have on my PC for any length of time.  If I don't get to play Inquisition enough to satisfy me, I'll have to decide what goes when DA4 is released, but I suspect I will have at least several years to get my fill.

Chemo? Don't go dying, you're probably the person I've ever gotten along with this well on this forum =].

Thanks guys!  :D   I get a lot of support from my family and friends and I think the cancer is responding well to the chemo.  About halfway through now and I've noticed a lot of improvement already.  I'm fortunate to live in this century when we have such remarkable advancements in treatment. :)

By the way, casteless really doesn't go through many enemies at all. There were less than 20 enemies in the entire carta base. I've turned the game off for the day, but I just reached Ostagar and have fought no enemies since the base, so I can get an exact count later (have to take 3 away from the kill count to minus the "kills" in the proving). I guess the casteless got quality over quantity, beating the warriors in the proving after considering their lack of training and experience is what gets them the high score. The number they go through in the carta hideout REALLY isn't impressive. Honestly, I think they possible go through the least amount of enemies out of all the origins.

Still, the situation of the Casteless means he's succeeds with a severe handicap.  Even more so than the City Elf, the only one comparable.

Whereas City Elf can marry, have a job (even a crappy one) to support their family, has the close knit and loving community to grow up in and support them, even plan a future where they may own a business or travel and join other communities.  Casteless starts off in a slum where they aren't allowed to work.  The only thing they can do to survive is beg, thuggery in a gang, or make babies that hopefully will be the right gender to give them a chance to up their caste.  They are subject to the whims of whomever wants to abuse them and have no voice.  They cannot even dream of better because of the rigid caste system.  Add to this the DC's only real friend is Rica--Leske is only hanging around because he's a 'work partner' and wants to take a shot at getting into Rica's skirts.  Even their abusive alcoholic mother hates them.

DC is one scrappy little survivor who beats some pretty insurmountable odds and should get points on that alone.

I'm tempted to respond in character, but I don't want to get banned, so I'll just say that beating the enemies the DC does go through requires guts.  A LOT of guts, when you consider the sentence s/he could get if found out in the Provings.  That, for me, is what sells this origin.

Also, Sylvan, so sorry to hear about your chemo.  Cancer sucks BIG TIME.  Hope your chemo works and your cancer doesn't come back... AND I hope you start feeling better soon!

No arguments here. I gave them a 9, remember? I remembered them having few enemies, just not THAT few. It doesn't change my score at all. Each warrior in the proving was worth at least 10 of the guards the city elf fought.

My casteless I started yesterday did it to impress the grey wardens. He knew it was a good way to get out of the cesspool they were living in, saw it as a way out. Every response I gave to other combatants had to do with honoring the wardens. I don't think any of my casteless characters have been as "for" being a warden as this latest one of mine was.

My casteless didn't yet care about impressing the Wardens when she got to the Proving.  She was just glad for the chance to kick some major Noble Caste butt.  Impressing Duncan and getting a ticket out of Dust Town was icing on the cake.

Is the Origin really important to know who Duncan is most proud of? It doesn't matter because everyone is worthy in they're own right. Heck you still kill an Archdemon and become Hero of Ferelden.

This discussion isn't about who Duncan is most proud of, but more of a debate and discussion on which Origin makes the best starting Warden as of the moment they join the Order before arriving at Ostagar.

We all acknowledge that they are each wonderful Wardens who can potentially become the Hero of Ferelden. It's more like, would a Dalish Elf, the moment they're conscripted, have more skills and experience that contribute to being a warden in comparison to a mage.

It's all really just way to pass the time and take an honest assessment of where we think each origin fits.
