Hakkonite Rage

These hakkonites are WAY too strong. All of my party members at lvl 24 are getting killed in 2 hits. They all have good armor and even with the cold endurance potion with 60% cold reduction are still getting killed in 2 hits. I am at the battle at the old temple with the 4 mages and 2 warrior battle and right now I am so consumed by rage I can't even play. So right now the only option i have is to reload to an earlier save beat the game then turn down the difficulty from nightmare to maybe normal. Should the battle be difficult yes should a single hakkonite be able to 2 shot my entire party no.

I am a Knight enchanter spamming spirit blade and barrier using fade step to evade hits. Cassandra is my tank constantly pulling aggro and keeping guard up. Iron Bull is my off tank trying to dps with Varric hanging back doing poison and range. At least this is what they should be doing but they cant due to the constant death.

I think Jaws of Hakkon may actually be the only portion of the game that scales to you, considering it was a challenge at 32 in full Dragon gear. I played a two-handed warrior and the only guys that really gave me an issue were my mirror image on the other side. Everything else my team was able to take out rather easily.

Your first mistake is spamming spirit blade. That's a low damage ability on the whole that mostly saps mana. You need to make effective use of your abilities as a mage. Fire mine, energy barrage (with a flame staff, full upgrade), the localised slowdown spell, etc. I'd honestly run another mage with barrier since as a KE you build barrier on your own and IMO taking the spell is a waste. Your tanks need to overlap barrier and guard.

No wonder you're in exile, good tactical analysis.  I remain resistant to get the DLC until some of these foundation code issues are fixed.  In my last attempt the keys stopped working reliably on the first pride demon, movement and targeting was very difficult and I called it quits until they fix the input control system.

Oh, on the bright side Bioware did fix the issue where you got no potions from Cassandra in the beginning, but you really don't need them if the controls work properly, so what is more important to fix?  Foundations should be first as they affect everything above and instability loops.

Many have posted that Nightmare Difficulty is not hard enough. Now there's one that complains.
