Ok so my favorite skill in the game is charging bull. I want a build that focuses on staying alive and I have no HoK items. I do want to focus on crits and use flow of battle.

charging bull

whirlwind

Other then that I'm totally lost. With guard on hit I don't really need more taunts. Any help would be great.

Charging Bull

Mighty Blow

Combat Roll

Grappling Chain or Pommel Strike

I'm thinking maybe TTD and mighty blow. It sucks I have no HoK items and the Katari passives are offense.

WW is fun but really only good as an AOE detonator

Should try war horn and combat roll for survivability. Also check out drasca's build guides for katari, they are very informative.

Mobility is your key.

Charging Bull, Mighty Blow, Pommel Strike, Combat Roll

CB into enemies, use MB and or PS (works especially well on blocking types or assassins), CR out of danger if things are not dead. Rinse/Repeat

Upgrade CR will make VC fire attacks, DC stun and RTC whirlwind avoidable, and if hit with them, will get you out of the way and cancel their effect.

Since you have no HoK gear, run crit chance rings if your cunning isn't real high.

Again, mobility is your key.

Mighty Blow is a good ability, however I do use an enhanced MB ring, which gives it more kick.  Also, keep in mind that it is a CC ability, and with the right passive, you output greater damage on CC'd enemies. It's also handy for dealing large damage against grouped enemies.

There is nothing wrong with WW. I use it quite a bit. It is actually a pretty decent survival skill since they buffed the Katari. You do need to realize when to use it and when not to use it. Venatori are pain for WW, as is any sword or shield guys. Demons you can WW to death, and keep full guard through most of the match.

I typically use WW, mighty blow, Combat Roll, and Charging Bull.

The truth is, you really only need 3 skills to dominate with the Katari. Combat Roll, Charging Bull, and Mighty Blow.

I really don't like warhorn at all. The animation takes to long, and then you have to chase enemys down

The Katari survives by staying on the moved when engaged with the enemy (Charging Bull, Combat Roll, attacking), and by knowing when to lay back and not engage. There are some good videos out there that show how evasive the Katari can be with just those abilities.

For defense passives I'd take bear mauls the wolves, and the one that gives you stamina back.

When I play I can afford to be alot more aggressive since I do have a HoK ring, but in groups I rarely need it, because my guard stays half to full most of the match.

For soloing, I do rely on my HoK ring though.

Nobody like WW? Gives me D2 flash backs.

Apples and Oranges. Soulstones and Orbs of Destruction.

DII Barb WW never got stopped by enemy blocks, stuns, fears and knockdowns. Also, there's no heal % damage done accessories (DII % life steal) that made WW useable there as well as the relative damage being much higher vs relative enemy health. Fade shield on AW is closest to that. Guard is insufficient for Perilous.  No instant health + mana (stamina) rejuvenation potions either. All of which made D2 WW work, and DAIMP WW not work.

Anyway, have fun! Your Katari peers would salute you, but they're busy curpstomping Venatori.

You don't need just help, you need lots of equipment and promotions (using other characters).

My typical build is Charging Bull, Mighty Blow, Earthshattering Strike, and Combat Roll. All upgraded except sometimes Combat Roll. I've thought about subbing in WW, but I like seeing things running about, screaming, and on fire so I'm working myself up to it? xD I decided the passive at least one 2H class has (%chance fear on kill, I think it is) was more trouble than it was a help because it was constantly my luck that they'd go from being nice and bunched up to very spread out before I had a chance to knock the mobs back down.

By far the best katari skill besides CB is WW. It clears out area's like nothing else. My current build I CB into battle WW around till everything is dead. If something is still standing stun them with PS and smash them with MB.

D2 WW was the best! Get plenty of life steal and the merc with thorns aura and just WW through all the cows.

WW is good if you have a friend who uses SC constantly, otherwise it's meh at best. Is fun to stand in zone 5 demons and WW nonstop though.

If a little venatori zealot can block a massive full on qunari charging bull, than they absolutely block ww. It makes perfect sense btw.

Too much love for TTD with the Lego, not enough with the Katari. Odd.

Not if you play it. It doesn't cost Lego much for TTD, it costs Katari several points out of the way and conflicts with the mobile style Katari have. In order to cast TTD, you must stand vulnerable for 1-2 seconds. Legos can afford to stand around with their invincibility skills, Katari cannot.

I'll agree to disagree.

Katari is a bosskilling machine with TTD. Dominates first 4 zones with or without it, as you yourself have said, CB/MB/CR repeat.

I find TTD to be extremely fun when I play, and extremely useful when being used by my fellow Katari companions.

Anyway, back to my original point. Lots of love for TTD on the Lego, and it arguably has a better more team oriented replacement in Warcry. Not nearly enough love for TTD on the Katari. PS? ES? WW? Meh...I'll just keep spamming CB/MB/CR instead, and have TTD for Zone 5.
