We purchased upgrades for Varric's bow Bianca. How do you add these??

We tried but can't add them.

Any help would be great. We are new to this game.

At Haven/Skyhold, there is a smithy with an option to upgrade weapons. Go to Varric and select Bianca, then select each slot and put the item that fits that slot in. That upgrades Bianca and boosts his damage.
