So, what do you think? Is the hype train about to start up?

Hype Train!!!!!

Sounds great. I mean that had to go above and beyond for this one. It looks like they're taking what worked in ME1, combining it with features that are working in Dragon Age Inquisition, especially extensive customization and exploration and hopefully topping it off with a kick ass me3 style multiplayer that also carries weight in the single player. I like the sound of it. Now for execution.

Hmm, looking around the SP section, the setting (Andromeda) caused quite a stir in some people. I, for one still think that the game sounds really ambitious, and if they pull it off right, it could be a successful starting point for a new era.

And yes, I'm officially hyped.

sounds not bad, could be great, could be boring.
I m not a big fan of customizing your team ... but a bit of building + improved usual me figthing
should be great
I have no idea if this is forged text or not :D

What do you mean by that?

Edit: If you'all ever happen to stumble upon the SP forums, a practical advice: do not come up with valid points, because you are going to be ignored.

building the team on 25 different levels, weapon, clothes, armor, power, artefact aso could be quite boring for me. XP and weapon level are enough imo. Or i just have to test a great game which use that kind of "building"

ME1 was allready a pain in this aspect with the useless infinite inventory

I do find that DAI is much slower overall because of all the exploring and customization. I am enjoying it in Dragon Age, because that has always been a slower type of series. I like the quicker pace and combat style of the mass effect series, particularly 2 and 3.. If they duplicate dai to the letter, then me4 will definitely have a much slower pace than its predecessors.. in theory..

Which, I personally, wouldn't mind. It'd bring back the 'magic' that ME1 had over its sequels. I can't quite describe what it was, but I'm sure you felt it. Plus, a new setting could also help with that since we'd have literally no idea what we're up against, just like in the first game.

Yeah, I agree. That sense of truly discovering and uncovering the story in me1 is unparalleled in all of my gaming history. Coupled with a few great twists and an incredible finale. Ah Now I want to play the series again. lol

Haha, out of my 12 playthroughs, 6-7 were almost complete 100%, so you might be right. :)

The new setting looks like Stargate Universe. I always went for 100% in all of my playthroughs. Downloading ME2 on Steam right now.

I hope ME4 MP is similiar to ME3 MP with lesser bugs and not like DAI MP. I have completely stopped DAI MP so far.

LOL, i think 80% of my ME1 playthrough are 100% too :D, at least since i discovered the wikia.
Ok then, thinking about it, it might be only 3-4 out of 10 :D. But now, i would nt leave anything behind

If this is true, anyway -- big assumption --

It sounds like they're trying to recapture a bit of ME1's general aesthetic and tone. While I disliked a lot of things about ME1, part of its appeal to me was the sense of discovery -- seeing all the concepts and ideas for the first time, the emphasis on the vastness, emptiness and hostility of unexplored space, Mako doing sick triplebackflips off everest-high mountains on planet surfaces then falling into a ravine, crashing seventy times and somehow only ending up with a flat tire, etc.

So I am cautiously excited and hoping they combine ME1's aesthetic and sense of exploration and discovery with all they've learned about making fluid, fast-paced combat from the latter two games. If they manage to successfully strike a balance between those and deliver an engaging narrative and interesting characters, I think it'll be fantastic.

I don't care about how rigidly it adheres to the lore, it's not going to break  :crying: MUH IMMERSION :crying:  if suddenly Intergalactic Travel is a thing.

At the same time I'm also not a fan of big open world games in general, I think they lack direction and a lot of content in them tends to be shallow and repetitive, etc (I hated Skyrim for this reason). So it could be really dull if they take it that way.

The MP... eh, they've got a working formula but they also need to l2netcode and support it for longer than they did ME3 MP.

also, needs moar turian

edit - goddamn that's a lot of rambling, tl;dr version is "i want to do backflips with makobutterwheels again"

I only got the maingame (by Black Mage ;) ). You still need to buy the DLCs.

Edit: Now I have 1337 posts. That´s so 1337. I´m not allowed to post anymore, cause I wouldn´t be 1337 anymore :D .

I normally don't get hyped for releases in advance but if they show turians at E3 I'm probably going to start foaming at the mouth
