First, some weapons have an AoE damage but I can't find an explanation of what that means. Second, some Fade Touched materials apply a bonus such as 'Berserk: +30% damage bonus, +300% damage from all sources'. What does that mean and does it only work if applied to a warrior?

AoE means Area of Effect: a weapon, spell or skill that does AoE damage hurts more than one enemy at a time within a certain area. The Berserk bonus means that the character who wields or wears the Berserk item does 30% more damage but also receives 300% more damage from everything.

Thanks for the info. This means AoE weapons are a lot better and Berserk Masterwork is probably something to avoid.

You're welcome. AoE weapons can be useful when you want to injure more than one enemy at once, yes. I'm not a fan of the Berserk Masterwork, but could be useful with certain builds perhaps.

for 2H Reaver do not use beserk unless you micromanage every single move.  Way to easy to get lost in the scuffle and die before you know whats happening.

I am going to build a beserk warrior in the future just to try it out.  SNS Champion with Beserk on everything.

I wonder if AoE weapons would be a problem when friendly fire is turned on.

Well, like any AoE ability, spell or weapon, yes, if FF is turned on you will also damage your companions.

Only go for Berserk if you're a Necromancer and have Simulacrum or you're really, really good at playing an Assassin.
