Maybe they get to Andromeda using Ludicrous Speed.

The Pathfinder: "We need to get to Andromeda faster, the damn fans won't wait this long, they're going to get bored and go play Call of Duty. Engage Ludicrous speed."

2nd Officer: "But..sir?"

The Pathfinder: "You heard me."

...sometime later

The Pathfinder: "Stop this damn Ark thing you idiots. We already passed Andromeda!"

2nd Officer: "We can't sir. Systems not responding"

The Pathfinder: "Damn this mass produced Elkoss Combine ****."

...even later in a distant galaxy

The crew of the "Destiny": "An unidentified object just passed us at incredible speed!"

Col. Young: "Status report, Rush, what the hell was that?"

Dr.Rush: "Pathfinder Initiative. Bloody fools."

It would be the stupidest story line of all time, even, remarkably so, beating 'guy with red **** growing out of him'.

I think that's a little bit dramatic.

Okey I admit. Bad choice of words. Many people fell in love with the first game and continued to play it. And they loved it. The thing is, I have no problem with a new protagonist or a new galaxy, it´s excitnng and fresh. The problem for me is the following:

If (and I say if) the rumours are true, it means that almost nothing from the triology will be mentioned at all. Even if it´s a new galaxy, don´t you think that Shepards legacy will live on? If the pathfinder rumour is true. How come control Shepard doesn´t help the humans in the new galaxy? Reapers travel a lot faster than any alien ship in the galaxy. To reach the new galaxy would be no problem for the reapers. But hey, it seems like the milky way disappeared from the universe. This is of course just speculation. But Bioware did confirm that they wouldn´t mention the trilogy that much (maybe not at all) in the new game. So we got a new setting in a new galaxy, where the trilogy doesn´t matter at all. Hmm, this doesn´t feel like Mass Effect for me. It feels lika  new franchise with the same name and similar features. It´s like if a new Star Wars sequel wouldn´t mention the galactic civil war and how Luke Skylwaker with friends saved the galaxy.

Furthermore, the information (rumours) reminds of the new Dragon Age game. The multiplayer part in a single player game is one of the things I don´t like. And if they world is to open (sandbox) there´s a risk that the story will not be that good. This is the problem with the new Dragon Age game. You went to the war table, traveled to a place on the map, ran around and killed some enemies to finish some side missions. The whole game just felt like a giant side mission, almost like a mmo. And there are more similiarities. So there are many reasons to why I´m skeptic. But I´ll hope for the best. I accept that people are excited, but I´m not. I will problably not buy it when it comes out, and I usually pre-order games from Bioware.

I am box excited and scared for the new ME. The remnant and Geth Khet really excite me. What I am afraid though is that the Milky way and awesome worlds like Illium, Bekenstein, Thessia, Palaven, the Citadel, Earth, etc will be forgotten for a long long time. I am also worried about what the story will be about because the leak makes it seem as if it's all just a huge side story.

I am also worried about the species of the new game.

I am certain that Humans, Asari, Krogan, Volus, Turians, Varren and Salarians will be in.

I am also certain that the Geth, Protheans, Yahg and Raloi won't make an appearance and will probably just be mentioned.

Now the word outlaws to me implies that Batarians and Vorcha might be in.

However I am worried that if the reaper war did not fare very well the Batarians, Quarians, Drell, Hanar and Elcor will be missed and I hope that does not happen.

The prevailing theory at the moment is that some citizens of the Milky Way built an ark ship and went to Andromeda deliberately during the events of ME3, in order to escape the Reapers. Since we have no evidence that the Reapers operate outside our galaxy, getting out of it entirely would be one way to guarantee that some people survived regardless of whether or not Shepard was victorious.

It would be a colonisation effort, not an accident.

I bet the Remnant has to do something with how we got to the Andromeda galaxy.

They better not get rid of any of the races if we are going to a new galaxy. We are already throwing a lot of the setting away, so let's not throw even more of what makes Mass Effect Mass Effect away by removing some of the iconic races.

This.

Also, I am going to come right out and say that I want all of the races to make the journey even the ones that could have potentially been killed off in the Trilogy.

If BioWare is going to say that crossing the 2.5 million light years to Andromeda is possible, then they can easily just as easily explain why races like the Geth, Quarians and Rachni could have made the trip.

Mass Effect is what happens when all your clothes no longer fit because you're fat.

I think that would be called Fat Azz Effect...

This I agree with. I care about these species. For me, it is not necessarily the Citadel or the relays that make me care about the Milky Way. It's these races. These people. These characters that populate the Milky Way that makes me care.

If we are going to Andromeda, then I really hope they all get a spot on the Ark.

Yeah, I honestly doubt they'll bring back all the races. While I'd like if they're all in Andromeda, I prefer to stay pessimistic About it.

You know how they could keep must or all the races? Staying in the Milky Way.

Otherwise it's unlikely more than three or four will be returning

unfortunatly its pretty safe the geth and quarians are out. expecially because in a closed door preview people litterally voted quarians off the island

I can't believe the madness that anyone would vote Krogan off the island. Madness, I tell you.

I think Quarians would be important, though. They're such great tech and engineers. That would be important in setting new stuff up.

Indeed!

That may be why there's a Pathfinder Initiative in the first place, according to the leaked marketing survey.

If another theory is true and people are still living on the ark ship - which could be this thing - sending out explorers to chart new worlds sounds like at the very least a reasonable premise for the new game.

As he pointed out its going to be hard finding a habitable planet that has all the necessary things to sustain life and that's not taking into account all the different species. There is also the fact they'll have no means to defend themselves, remember the scientist on Gellix their plan was to run and hide not fight and when cerberus showed up they were ill equipped to deal with them and would've been dead had Shepard not shown up. This is the same case with the whole ark thing since the goal is to run and hide not fight and if they encounter a space faring hostile species (or several of them) they aren't going to last long.

I'm not expecting Geth, Quarians or Krogan to be in Andromeda. I would really only expect to see Asari, Turian, Salarians and Humans in large numbers. Maybe there will be a few token Krogan or Quarian as an individual NPCs, but I don't expect to see those races fully represented the way I expect to see the council races represented.

I also expect they will introduce between 2-4 new alien races.

Hmmm, just now noticed...   There appear to be some stars up in the upper left.  Guess I've always known they were there, but I just now noticed them.
