Hey guys, i have a question.

Is the romance in this game evadeable or u HAVE to watch thouse bed scenes?

How does it work? is it a part of the pilot or u can manipulate stuff to not have them?

its just that i wanna play this with my brother and it will be really akward if there will be any awkward scenes...

Thanks!

Don't click on the icons with an heart in it and you'll avoid romances.

Just don't click the giant heart dialogue options.

As others said, not starting them is a good way to avoid them.

However there are some romances where there are no sex scenes. Particularly Josephine, whose romance doesn't have a single reference of them sleeping together since the writer wanted the level of intimacy to be ambiguous.

You don't even have to 'evade' them. The icons in the dialogue wheel make everything obvious enough.

You can avoid romances,of course. Some of them don't even have sex scenes, however.

Josephine and Solas don't have a sex scene. Dorian and Sera's sex scene can be avoided, but the romance will still continue.

Just avoid the heart icon but for whatever reason if you decide you wanna be a flirt but get into a romance when they confess to you just click on that heartbreak icon and you wont even have to worry about avoiding the romance again.

This is a type of game where you have to play privately. It's one of those games I'd like to play without distractions.

On my first play-through I somehow had an awkward scene with Cassandra even though I never chose any romance dialogue options with her (I was trying to romance Dorian, but couldn't due to his conversation bug). I think it was somewhere near the end-game, and she confronted me on the ramparts and said she couldn't stand all my "flirting" and asked if I was serious about her. I had to decline and tell her I just viewed her as a friend, and felt a bit like an ass on my Inquisitor's behalf.

I think / would guess that it was related to one of the end-game plot points:

Spoiler
and because I hadn't romanced anyone by that point the game was "double-checking" that I didn't want to pursue a romance with her, since it was a point of no return and the ending would be set after that.

So even if you don't choose romance dialogue options the subject might still come up, but the game won't force you into one.

Nope. The heart wants what the heart wants. Stop trying to fight it. I mean it's in bright read colors and everything. They're practically telling you to click it.

I so badly want to participate in this conversation because I feel 12 replies are not yet enough (it's got its own thread 'n all). So I thought really hard and came up with: act like a real jerk to lower approval with all potential romance options. If nobody likes you, you are sure to avoid any romantic involvement.

There are no bed scenes, so you are covered.

Can't get any obvious than a giant pink heart.

I think you probably want to avoid this one anyway. While it is true that you can avoid the romances by being careful not to choose any conversation options marked by a heart, there will still be discussions that you might find awkward in the party banter. Also, some of the side quests (e.g. Dorian's) deal with sexual matters, so you will have to avoid them too if you want to avoid awkwardness.

If you want a romance and just don't want to see your inquisitor's boobs, you can romance Cullen.  They do it, but you don't see anyone's naughty bits.  Or you can flirt with everyone and not start anything with anyone.

Punch Dorian, punch Solas, take every opportunity you get to be an ass when it comes to the Wardens, diss the Maker, Andraste and faith, be a jerk to Josie, badmouth the Qunari, tell Cullen to man up and take that lyrium and share with Sera your wholehearted belief in the elven gods and your firm belief that elven culture should be preserved and revered.

Nobody will even want to poke you with a stick.

If you still want to romance but don't want anything close to the dirty bits, you can also hit "Esc" (I don't know console equivalents; check your bindings) to skip the dialogue/scene.

I know, it's awful when all the good answers have been given. That's like when you want to become a superhero but all the cool names are in use already and you end up with.. I dunno.. Newspaper Hat Man or Hamster Blaster or something.

We're just too damn slow. Also, don't you know it's a bad idea to blast hamsters? They go for the eyes.

Don't pick the flirt options and you are good to go.

Anyway OP, good on you for doing a no romance playthrough. It is a breath of fresh air in a forum where people obsess over romance and character shipping and romantic fanfiction.
