AI tanks not using War cry and challenge

Ok this is ridiculous, no matter what I try Cassandra just prefers to auto-attack things while having her taunts ready and waiting

So in general when we pull a Rift she runs around and hits something with a sword, while demons rip apart me and mage.

Somewhere after 1 minute into a fight she uses War Cry when everyone is almost dead.

This is retarded.. I tried setting War Cry as "preferred" in her tactics, not working - she doesnt give a crap, and not using it all, and just keep auto attacking things while the party is dying.

Anyone made this game work with an AI tank???

What Tactics/behaviors settings I need to set to make this idiotic AI tank working?

Got the same problem. My bloody KE mage is outliving cass. I mean, the class is a OP but that shouldn't be happening.

I can swear, Ai tanks were using abilities, taunts especially, before last patch, now its impossible to play except if you tank everything yourself

Can someone confirm this issue?

I assume that the tank has warcry/challenge in one of the 8 slots right?  They won't use an ability, even if you set it to preferred, if it's not on the bar.

Of course it is on the bar.

She has stamina to use it.

She has tactic set to "Preferred War Cry" to use it.

She is surrounded by enemies, hitting her fkn party into pulp.

And she is not using it.

Strange.  Works just fine for me.  Maybe the game is sensing your hostility.

This works fine for me too. Unless you have many other skills also set to preferred, this behavior makes no sense. She should start with the taunt.

Try (if not done already):

- don't set more than 3 skills on "preferred". (taunt is one of them ofc)

- set tactics to "follow yourself". (e.g. Cass on "follow Cass")

If not working, try closing the entire game (not just main menu) and reloading your save. There is a bug where the A.I. completely stops working (no usage of any skill) or "forgets" to use some skills. Exiting entirely and reloading solved this for me.

This was it man, they were not using any AI until I completely closed the game and restarted everything,

Quickloading did not help - need to restart game completely.

Gezus Christ Bioware, really...

Inevitable? Not really. This bug is present since launch, was reported numerously (I did too) and it's still there. Sure, once you know it, you can "solve" it within 1-2 minutes. But the first time I encountered it I nearly deleted my character because I thought my playthrough got bugged. (The bug stays til the game is completely closed. I loaded different saves and it was still present. Just out of curiosity and as last hope I exited the game completely and found the "fix").

I had this problem with Cassandra on one of my playthroughs as well and opted to just switch her out for Blackwall as a 2H Tank (build here) and he used War Cry frequently.

Not Biodrone, I just don't comment about things I'm completely ignorant about....

Fixing a bug in "1-2 minutes", I'd be living in heaven if that was possible.

This is an obvious misunderstanding. He meant that the player can "solve" the bug occurrence in 1-2 minutes by re-starting the game, not that the developers can solve the bug in the code in 1-2 minutes.

Oh lol oops.

@Shevy I'm sorry. Though I still imagine the bug isn't so easy to fix.

Lol, for an AAA game with multitude of developers and for insane price?

Fck no, this is not "inevitable", this is just a display of what piece of crap Bioware has become

Game is complete crap on PC (PC CONTROLS ARE TERRIBLE, AFTER 6 PATCHES WHERE THE FCK IS CLICK-TO-MOVE???), and now this AI bug on top the cake

This is the very last gold Biocrap got from me in their coffers.

After ME3 and DA2 I thought "ok maybe they dropped the ball, but I still trust them" and after this piece of ... my patience is out sorry

If they want to make Mario games, name them "RPG" and milk the market, pff, fine, but without me, bbgl

Action-Gayromance simulator is not an "RPG" game no matter how you look at it

I love hyperbolic posts. Unfortunately though, properly responding to them is a waste of time.

What is the stamina threshold at? If it is too high, they will not use ANY abilities, even those set on preferred. Plus, Inquisition is a game designed around killing enemies fast, not slowly ticking the boss down while the tank taunts all day.

Lower the stamina reserve. It's like %50 by default so Characters can't use most of their abilities.

Given the durability of tanks, both approaches work.

That's how Cassandra can solo dragons.
