If anything, they'll do a Keep for Mass Effect. No past-gen consoles.

Honestly, I wouldn't mind if Mass Effect stayed away from imports from here out. Unlike Dragon Age, the sci-fi setting allows for a pool of locations so large as to make possible self-contained games that still have weight and importance.

You have to be more concrete than that.

That there is no need to worry about saves because choices won't be imported.

I don't know if they mean that or not. They said the same thing about ME3, funnily. "A great place to start!"

I expected something more...detailed. I don't see how it could mean anything else. Or how they'd make a fresh start with save import.

Inquisition didn't need your saves, either.

Yeah, I wouldn't read much into it.

It could mean that they're adopting a 'Keep' system or that you'll determine major plot points of the trilogy only once you have the game. Or none of those things.

It's also not as persistent... or not persistent in the same way. Different protagonists/story arcs help that.

Didn't they show off a ME Keep on N7 day?

I doubt it. They know exactly what we mean when we ask about save import. Saying you don't need saves when there's actually a Keep would be as good as lying.

Yeah, but they tended to keep telling players that they would have a solution, not "No need to worry about it."

Great. Feeling that past trilogy is being thrown away increasing.

If there are going to be save imports, then they need to release a remastered edition for PS4 and Xbox One.

I would like that, even if they don't plan any imports.

Tell me, if there would be no new Mass Effect game ever would you still think the trilogy doesn't matter?

No, that was Orbit, which is what they used to create the DA Keep but it came with a piece of ME:N concept art so everyone got confused.

That was the plan originally. So in a sense, they are throwing away the original vision for the series.

Hudson conceived it as a trilogy. And then said in the Final Days app that there'd be no stories after this timeline.

No, because it would be the end of the franchise. If there are going to be future games, there should be connections to the previous games. In Bioware's case, that also means having your choices reflected since choice was one of the top selling points of the series.

I thought Hudson said if there were new games it would most likely be a prequel or "sidequel"

He entertained those, yeah. Mac Walters got a little more specific about it....I think he thought a Garrus spinoff would be cool.

Hmm....

Well, he kind of managed enough of that with the Foundation comics. It was OK... I hope that's the end of it.

I never said it has to be. I said it should be. Big difference.

Sounds better than the leaked game.
